Modified holster for German issued Hi-power

Picked this up at a small shop, it was labeled ,” Polish holster“, but obviously made for a Hi-Power. It appears to have been made from another holster, or at least salvaged leather. The binding around the flap makes me think Austrian? The stamped marking appears to be a horse head inside an...

    Help ID holster marking

Thank you Ryan. As you can see, the fastening strap is missing. I know a local saddle maker who could make a good replacement. I have another holster of this type he could use as a sample. The rest of the holster is solid with good stitching and flexible leather, do you think it is worth...

    Help ID holster marking

Trying to identify the marking on this German made drop loop holster for the Browning model 1922. It appears to be a strangely styled eagle over the number 2. I am guessing some type of Luftwaffe marking? This is the only marking I can find on the holster. thanks in advance for any assistance,

New Pictures! Help Identify Please! Complete Newbie!

The short answer to your question is yes, that rifle is worth $800. Pre war, markings intact, walnut stock. The follower, floorplate and upper band are matching so their is a good chance that sanded walnut stock is number matched to the rifle. It would be nice to know if the lower band is...

Anybody else have a great time at the SOS show ?.

Fewer K98ks than I expected to see, and most overpriced for their condition. I did see one very nice one in the lobby while eating an $11 pork sandwich. Carried in by a young guy, dou 43, good condition, all matching and excellent untouched wood with original sling and sight hood, $2500. I am...

Looking for some help on a dou 43 k98 - Not sure about some parts

What Peter said. Additionally, The Z in rhe handguard number is actually a 7. You are correct that the “Germany” is an early import mark. I think all the parts are legitimate WWll German, just mismatched.

    Identify my gun.

Ok, I’ll take a shot (no pun intended) If there are letters/numbers stamped on the receiver above 1937, it is probably a K98k. If it is 1937 only on top of the receiver, probably a Czech VZ-24. Either of these rifles would be candidates for a WWll bring back, or early post war import...

    Battle Damaged Erfurt Gew 91

The differences are the sidewall marking and the stacking hook on the Gew. 91. I have always wondered why it was called a Gew (rifle) 91 and not Kar 91
