Help ID holster marking

Trying to identify the marking on this German made drop loop holster for the Browning model 1922.
It appears to be a strangely styled eagle over the number 2. I am guessing some type of Luftwaffe marking?
This is the only marking I can find on the holster.

thanks in advance for any assistance,

Its a Luftwaffe BAL2 acceptance. The BAL was the Luftwaffe equivalent of the WaA, and BAL2 covered the Suhl area. Your holster was probably made by "JCF", though it isn't known exactly who that is. All we have is a logo. They made leather goods including holsters and MG15 tool kits, some appear to have been subcontracted by other firms. Probably made other stuff too.

The JCF logo is probably on the inside of the flap near the button. It may be faint.

Thank you Ryan.
As you can see, the fastening strap is missing. I know a local saddle maker who could make a good replacement. I have another holster of this type he could use as a sample. The rest of the holster is solid with good stitching and flexible leather, do you think it is worth repairing.
What is an appropriate value on this?

Thanks again for your help.

$100-150 maybe in this condition? A missing/repro strap is probably a big hit. These are not super common though, so couldn't hurt getting a strap made for it, if it could be done right and it wouldn't cost a fortune.

An example of this maker (a later one where the BAL2 was moved to the inside flap) with the strap intact. There were a few makers who made very similar holsters but the construction varied a bit.

Thanks again Ryan, with your direction, I was able to find the makers mark on the inside of the flap.

The condition of your example is superb.
