Suspicion doesn't mean it ain't legit but nice bluing on an old military rifle has me looking at stamps and for pitting that's been blued over. I have a 1908 Swedish m96 that has imaculate bluing. I looked it over pretty darn close before I bought it too.

I get suspicious anytime the bluing on a 74 year old rifle doesn't look 74 years old.

A Hakenkreuz above the right breast pockets on the uniforms, so it would be after the death of Von Hindenberg. Kids look all proud and gung ho, little did they know what their fate would behold.

On a 1937 Sauer. Original stock but unfortunately sanded, probably because it's a nice hunk of walnut. Also a nice 1912 Swedish m96.

Right Andy that's an original m/41 with a German Ajack (A. Jackenroll Optische) scope on it, the pic probably taken in the 40s. The m/41s were rebuilt in 1955 when the Swedes took the old German Ajack scopes, waterproofed them, coated the lenses and did a few minor upgrades to the rifle like...

Just remember to cut the BLO like a third with mineral spirits or even better pure spirits of gum turpentine and to buff off any excess after an hour or two.. Today's BLO has a way of looking like varnish after it sets up when applied full strength and not buffed. Don't get carried away and put...
