    Question on Polish bolts

The G29/40 was basically a K98k made by Steyr in Austria using wz29 receivers captured in Poland. Being produced for the German military, under German supervision, other than markings they were K98ks and used the K98k style bolt. When the supply of captured receivers were exhausted, even the...

    Question on Polish bolts

I hope this post is ok on this forum. I have developed quite an interest in Polish arms of 1919 through 1939. Original matching examples are difficult to locate, and accurate resource materials almost non-existent in the US. I am currently attempting to complete a couple rifles, and I am...

    Question for imported rifles.

i bought seven of the Romanian imports from the same dealer when they first came in , in the mid nineties. None had any defaced markings and most were matching except bolts. All had well worn finishes.

    1925 Simson & Co Suhl Kar98b 9625

I chased this one at the end, then figured out who I was bidding against. I knew it was going to a good home and saw no need to make it expensive for either of us. Glad you got it, now if it had been a Standard Modell……….

    $130,000 Luger

I thought the whole controversy should have been resolved by the presence of the Mauser G on the receiver and the obviously added 0 prefix to the 1 on the front of the frame.

What does a real 1917-era K98a sling look like?

Weren’t the slings with the leather loop instead of a metal adjustment buckle a carryover from the slings used on the kar 88?

    $130,000 Luger

I have seen very few German guns of any type with single digit SN, but I was surprised to see 01, instead of just 1. As Ryan pointed out, the 0 on the front of the frame does not look contemporary with the 1. The white paint in the “G” is original??? Surprised to hear that from a Luger expert...

    Wartime Standard-Modell

I think their may be a third one. I bought this rifle in 2014, and had convinced myself it was just a collection of parts, and some of it is, but it is in the same narrow SN range Standard Modell receiver:B 83073 barrel: B 83073 trigger guard: 83073 floorplate: 73 stock barrel channel: 83073...

K98 fb radom 1928 reworkd. Need help with identifying.

The barreled receiver is a Polish K98, basically a copy of the Imperial German kar. 98a. Someone has added an early K98k rear sight leaf, perhaps to replace the missing original Polish sight. The stock and handguard you need are unique to this model, although it is totally interchangeable with...

    Help ID stock

walnut semi Kriegsmodell stock. No takedown washer in stock but it has bayonet lug, not drilled for a cleaning rod. Stock was used in Israel and has 7.62 brand on bottom of butt. I thought it was a post war Czech stock when I bought it, but just noticed German markings on the bottom. Just...

Feedback sought on this 1940 Mauser please!

matching bolt and stock, if the sling is original then $1250 seems like a deal.

Markings on a Polish bolt from my Gew.98M. Who can deciffer?

The top one with a crown is an Imperial inspection mark. The letter beneath the crown indicates the inspection team that inspected that part. When the Poles first started building Mausers post WWl, they had access to some amount of left over Imperial German parts and often incorporated them in...

    Slings and things

interesting how the stuff at shows is very regional. Here in Virginia most bigger shows will have at least a few decent mausers, but vintage lever guns and single action revolvers are a rarity. Would like to make it to one of the big western shows someday

Interesting byf 44 - possible German rework??

The rear band is from a Mauser export contract. As others have stated the buttplate is postwar FN.

Need estimated value on g24t mismatch

RC K98k’s sell regularly for $800+, A G24t, even with issues is much harder to find. I bought one a couple years ago that was in a VZ-24 stock, but had a matching bolt, found a correct stock on eBay that was being sold as a VZ-24 stock
