    I recently was lucky enough to pick up these treasures of an old vet.The reason for the poor condition is that they lay untouched for 60 years under the Vets bed.Its like new inside.

    New to me G.33/40 - Looking for opinions

    Its a good representative example of a hard to get rifle in correct condition,of concern to me are the filed out wood under the bolt handle,the blued sight ladder,and the total lack of proofs on the stock.Heres some photos of the one Mauser 99 sold me.

    Hi welcome to the forum.The bolt is from a S243 G [Mauser Werke Borsigwalde] 1935 with the E211 proofs. I also live in NZ and recently sold 3 complete K98k stock sets on TM-pity? What part of NZ do you live?

    Good score,looks all matching and nice condition.It should be easy to get a donor stock to use the front end.The joint goes under the rear band and should be invisable,many members here would have a doner laminate stock also an unnumbered front band should be easy to find.Check the picture...

    Super nice 1940 Erma Peter,i finished up with one years ago[Ax 40] but it was a bolt MM,i sold it on.Best buy ,I swapped half tonn of oat seed for my first K98 k in 1973 [$100 value for an excellent] its one of the first 1937 s42 laminates V suffex.I still have it.

    Well its receiver would show 243 1939,this is the code for Mauser Werke Borsigwalde.In original condition this would be a desirable and valuable K98k.can you locate the original stock.
