    There is something under the liner,never seen that before.I agree with the above,its a real helmet but not really in collectable cond.for most.For 500.00-600.00 you can find a better example that you would probably be happier with JMO.

    I agree,I would have to pass on it, looks to be about 30% worn blued finish if that,this b block I picked up a while back,I would say is 90% or better for 600.00,yes a good deal I think on it,probably worth more like 750.00-850.00 ,never heard of a phosphate finish one.

    Thanks!Would or could the pigskin liner be correct for this late 42 helmet? It dosent look to me like it was ever changed out.If some pigskin liners are dated 42 then sounds like its ok.Where would the liner be dated?

    Late army m42 has chinstrap but broken, and a luftwaffe m40 ,these came from vets family or so I was told.They look good to me but would appreciate any comments.You cant always believe what someone tells you.The luft is missing the chinstrap.
