Good afternoon guy's , I stumbled across a German helmet locally at a shop and was up in the air about getting it. It would be my first helmet purchase. After all the threads I've read on humped one I'm pretty cautious cause I really don't know the ropes here. I was wondering if you guy's can look this one over for me and give me some insight.

Thanks
Chris

Awesome, what's the price range for something like this?

The outer finish and decal look pretty worn, maybe about a 50% decal. It would be nice to have a straight-on shot. Possibly worth $400-$450 to the right buyer IMO.

Thanks for the reply, asking price is 350 on it. Here's a little closer shot.

I think you should offer $300 if you just have it. Or wait and get a nice Luftwaffe or M42 without a decal for not a lot more.

It's real, but also really used. I agree with the above, if you need this particular helmet. For a little more you can get one in a nicer shape. Your call.

I agree with Nate. Its a great starter helmet but, If you ever went to sell it you would have a hard time selling it.

I know its hard to hear but, It would pay to wait and save for a better example. Its hard to do when its right in front of you. If you got it for 300-350 you wont get hurt at least.

Agreed

agreed...there is something under the liner ??/

Thanks for the replies everyone . Ya it's tough to avoid when it's right in front of you. Sounds like even 300 is a bit much considering the condition. It's a very shirt drive from me , I'll see how flexible on price he is, if not I'll take your guy's advice and wait for something better. Thanks again for advice.

There is something under the liner, never seen that before.I agree with the above, its a real helmet but not really in collectable cond.for most. For 500.00-600.00 you can find a better example that you would probably be happier with JMO.

Ok, I ended up getting it for 275. Did a little reading to get myself a little more familiar. Eisenhutten M35 single decal with earlier aluminum liner. It's reissue cause of the original green being painted over with the darker green?
Under the liner is is paper. It's looks to be folded pretty good and fixed to the Liner frame. I mean it's just not floating around in there.
It is in kinda rough shape be having it in front of me kind of makes it easier to put characteristics to actual item. Makes me have a lot of respect for you guys that can look at different camo's etc and know what your looking at.

Very cool combat worn M.35, named, unmessed with. Really my favorite type of lid, all there, lots of history and cheap! Well done.

You did good nice honest original m35 single decal with a liner a lot like this are just shells thinned out a bunch of my shells here while back and now only own a few completed ones picked up a m40 similar to it here while back with orig liner. Chinstraps are always a big plus timothy
