The marking on the frog is REINHOLD ADAM > OBERURSEL (TANUS) > 1937 for the firm of Reinhold Adam Sattlerwaren-Fabrik, Oberursel/Taunus in Hesse.

    40crs

That is exactly what it means. No letter block through late e block are marked P. Weyersburg with 40 on the spine. The scabbards P. Weyersberg > 1940

    S15 Gottscho

Very nice S14 Type II bayonet. As Andrej indicated, in collector terminology a "Gottscho" bayonet colloquially based on the maker. In this case with the "crucible" Gottscho-Rothgiesser (RG) maker's stamp with long R. This example is in the S series with the SS stamping above/left of the...

    Horster double date

These bayonets were produced in the summer 1944. Evidence suggests that the 44asw bayonet stamping dies were worn-out or damaged and the older 43asw dies were pressed into service and then mated with matching 44asw scabbards. Bayonets used a different stamping die than those of the scabbard...

    Clc 44 bayonet

As pwcosol noted, the grips are fine. Most of the late ones (they end in the H block) are phenolic scales but there wood grips randomly encountered as well. Nice piece and a late one.

    Rebuilt Bayonet???

As Andrej indicated, the 45 is a "bench" or assembly number which was applied to various components during the process of refurbishing the bayonet. Not date relative.

Recently got this S/242G Matching bayonet

They made somewhere in the area of 15 to 20.000 in 1935. Lower end of that range for a total.

    arr 4 cleaning kit comparision

Old thread but some additional thoughts on the arr>4 marking that might be of interest. arr>41 marking from a MG34 Öl- und Petroleumbehälter. And an arr>42 stamping found on a Patronenkasten 34. Can was originally finished in feldgrau paint over red primer with ordnance tan paint added during...

    CNX Gurtfüller 41

Very interesting. Personally, I do not see this as the same font/style CNX stamping as found on the late rg34. The ES WaA20 is also of a different form. Unrelated to the late Appel/Hawig/Mundlos connection IMO. My thoughts only .....
