New DOT 44 Acquisition and Kriegsmodell Stock Questions

I used these on my early dou45 but I think the dot rifles had transitioned to the non vz24 screw by this serial range.

New DOT 44 Acquisition and Kriegsmodell Stock Questions

Absolutely Killer stock. Brunn screws have very long shanks so the threading may not be visible unless its further into the holes.

Unmarked sewn k98 ammo pouch identification

I keep seeing these pop up recently, the sewing for the belt loops is not wartime in my opinion, I believe these are postwar pouches.

A Turd even I could spot

I love how he couldn't even be bothered to hump a proper milled triggerguard, he left a stamped one on haha

    DUV 41 former sporter restoration

Nice work! Like you said, sporters are less and less feasible to rescue every day sadly.

    PTR 44 purchase opportunity

I saw it, it was excellent indeed. Honestly the only thing holding me back is I cannot find ammo, let alone the price of the ammo if you even can find it. Hopefully PPU imports more of it, knowing that a rifle in the US chambered in it is hitting the market

    BYF 44

I dont like it, handguard is red glue while the stock is white and a totally different tone than the main stock so i suspect those Parts may be mismatched. On the main stock it appears all the low spots and dents are the darkest and grimy, indicating aggressive cleaning at a minimum.

Pretty sure the only 623’s on this rifle are the stock proof on the wrist and the final acceptance stamp.

More pics. I like the mis-stamp on the Handguard.

My Collection, Field Gear and Militaria

Various rucksacks. Top row: Tropical x3, Organization Todt., Gebirgsjager. Middle row: artillery x5, 1944 assault pack x3. Bottom Row: M44 x6. The easiest way to identify between the tropical and late rucksack is the back mounted carrying d-ring on the tropical rucksack, which also lacks...

My Collection, Field Gear and Militaria

I wish! The amount of maker stamps I have seen alone, let alone variations of the same manufacturer, would require probably several hundred if not over a thousand tornisters to get an example of each type made.

Rarest K98k you have come across?

Technically not a K98 but I'll never forget the WW2 vet bringing this to our reenactment: https://www.k98kforum.com/threads/vk-98-steyr-vg-5.32774/

    k98 Ammo Pouch ID

There is no master list, but a combination of old forum posts, plus referencing here: https://reichsbetriebsnummer.com/de/index.php can get you pretty close to every code you are looking for. At a minimum you will know the area the manufacturer was located.

    k98 Ammo Pouch ID

It is actually not unknown, but belongs to Ludwig Krumm AG - Offenbach am Main, a manufacturer for plenty of leather field gear goods.
