The stock is still in its original condition. Just has some dings/scratches near the buttplate along with some finish wear on the metal, especially the front band and floorplate.Looks like the metal is in great shape to me! Was the stock refinished or something? It certainly doesn't look to be in lesser condition to me. Probably my favorite barrel band combo, welded rear band and solid milled front band.
CongratulationsAfter 7 years in the hobby it finally happened, my first matching K98k. A nice Late JP Sauer with crisp duffelcut. Thanks to a dear friend for the heads up.
Well done and congrats Aaron Pic stickied for ref. There is one CE44 o block in the picture reference from 2011 and it has way less pictures, would it be out of line to ask to replace that post with this one?
"lxr" a common 3 letter code for later subcontracted followers. Do not recall the maker name.Beautiful gun. Just got my first matching JP Sauer recently too. It is a 43 production. What is the marking on the magazine follower?
Interesting. The magazine follower on my CE43 is unnumbered. Is that common?"lxr" a common 3 letter code for later subcontracted followers. Do not recall the maker name.
SN was dropped from follower as well as some minor parts starting from 1942( d block?). So the unnumbered follower is correct for your CE43Interesting. The magazine follower on my CE43 is unnumbered. Is that common?
It's stamped the light just makes it difficult to see.In 44 they do not numbered the upper handguard?
anyways the rifle looks gorgeous!
