Update on FG42 from SMG Guns

Went with the blued finish and darker wood this time since my T2 has light colored furniture.
I sent a Mas 36 bayonet with payment but Rick informed me(and other buyers) some bayonets came out purple during refinish and some(mine sadly was one) will need to be refinished and sent at a later date. The rifle does not look complete without the bayonet. Very happy with it so far.

Now i'm very glad I went with the blued finish and dark handguard. Looks great. Was yours maple or walnut?
 
Man, that looks great!!!! December will be 2 years 7 months for me, so, hopefully, I will get my two (one in 8mm, and one in .308) in his December run.
 
Anybody have any news? I just tried to log into his web site to check fir updates, and I keep getting error messages
 
I contacted Rick about some work I need on my FG42 in 8mm. I'm removing a Bullitt button I needed to make it CA compliant. I left CA years ago so it's time to remove it. Rick replied in a few days and said he will convert it to a normal mag release. Didn't ask about people's builds but I'm sure he's working hard to get things done for everyone waiting. I'll ask him for an update.
 
Rick sent an email today saying that a batch of Type1 in .308 and 8mm will be ready in April to June time-frame.
 
Are the 8mm type 1s supposed to come out before this .308 batch? I've been on the list for 1.5 years for one of the type 1s in 8mm.

Get comfy, some guys have been on the wait list 3 years

I read it as the whole batch both 308 and 8mm coming April-June…. What year is the question? 😆

I have been on the waitlist since may 21 and Rick told me recently that I should expect to be a part of the next run within 3-4 months, so that's 3 years like bigdibbs suggested.
 
Gotcha. Not complaining about the wait, I got my Type II a couple months back and it’s absolutely amazing and well worth the wait. Just wanted to make sure that the Type I guns are still coming. Glad to hear that this is the case.

Yea for sure. Not bad considering some have sold for ~10k lol. I'll gladly wait instead. Mine should be around 6500 or so but I think the newer batches are going up in price to 7k+
 
I ordered my Type 1 in 8mm in May of 2021 with a scope and mount.

Is Rick still shipping these with scopes and mounts?

I ordered the same month/year as you did. I was almost sure I received an update a while back that the price went up into the low 7’s not the price we originally ordered at. I hope I’m wrong though
 
In August of 2022 I received an email from SMG that stated prices would start at $6612.50 plus upgrades plus $130 shipping.

Maybe I missed a 2023 email regarding price.

Maybe I’m misremembering and 7k+ is the current price to order
