This is really getting out of hand..

Carnival barker.. used car salesman. Snake oil purveyor. I wish I had half the sales chutzpah this guy does. I'd be rich! Nevermind, I prefer my dignity.

Seriously though, all the guys pulling huge numbers especially on GB just live off puffery, folklore and lies. Just a quick look at the buzzwords they use for their "search terms" says enough.

Step right up folks....P.T. Barnum's rule is about to be realized! And over here behind the curtain, we have a war eagle with two heads!

Vic is no longer the owner of gunboards and Dennis is no longer a sponsor.

They will get those prices and fast, which is ridiculous, but they will get it. Time to sale some of my RCs that I bought mostly for sniper clones which I really do not need. I hand picked some nice ones.

Ben, whom I have know for 25 years, has no clue on what these are. He is kinda of a jack of all trades, master of none. He just wants to move them and make a profit for the new owner. He is surely wrong that most RCs were counterbored. I have none that are and I have looked at zip that were. Apparently some were, but not most.

I would say about 15% of all RC,s were CB'ed.

People can say what they want about Classic but they do know how to move Product and yes Big Ben is good at it. For the record I don't support Classic in any way, I tell people to checkout Empire Arms.

The bottom line is RC's are now worth more than I or anyone else thought. That's a good thing for all K98K collectors.

Yugo Capture BYF 43?

Is it just me or was the BYF 43 in the last batch that was selling for $1599.99 a Yugo capture without the Yugo crest? He said it wasn't an RC, but it had the serial stamped on the stock and looked like the Yugo type marking of the serial on the bolt handle.

Hey look!! Canuck RC K98 Pricing, but in USD, not SyrupBucks!

Canadian dealers sell RC K98s for $650-$1000 CAD, and the secondary market usually has them for $500-$700.

I'll admit that I paid $850CAD for one of my RC's, but it was a mint BSW (Nice hardwood stock with all stamps untouched and all metal was untouched too)... Most others I've paid around the $400-$600CAD mark.

As CanadianAR and JBMauser can tell you, matching and bolt MM K98s go for big $$$ up here in the frozen wastelands of the North!

Yeah...here in BC...RC K98s are in the mid $800's especially if they have one or two Nazi eagles on it. Even the beat to hell, run over by a Panzer looking ones command a high price...

Sure looked like an elm Yugo stock too.

Yeah, looked to be a Yugo reworked rifle that still had the code. Look, as it was stated before, the people buying these things aren't in the same market as we are and have no idea how easy it is to find a decent 98k for less than 1k.

And I think it's a damn shame that he's taking advantage of that, especially with the buzzwords.

I 100% agree about the market for these and am really not trying to beat a dead horse. I'm just interested in trying to get my eye up to speed on evaluating listings on these as a new collector and wanted a sanity check on my conclusions on this one.

This is not about making money off buyers that have limited knowledge in this field. If I keep saying things like rare, limited numbers, mirror bright bore, duel eagles, the special black buttplate, cleaning rods included, and my guarantee that you will love these rifles. Is not a sales pitch lol.

By the way has that guy wore the same red shirt everyday now for all these videos? Hope it's not the same one haha.

You don't think he made all 4 videos the same day?

As to him taking advantage of people, it's not true - even the most simple search would find the thread on Gunboards. I've lost my compassion for people that don't even try...

Nope afraid not. Maybe thats his selling shirt. Hell I got two selling shirts I wear too shows one says mountain duce the other says I know nothing with Sgt Schultz's face on the front.

I'm pretty sure he filmed the videos the same day but you have too put some humor with it. Makes it funnier.

I have now seen (4) RC Mausers listed on (4) different forums for $475-575 and not one is sold. Yet Classic makes a stupid video sells them for 50-150% more and sells out in minutes. It is amazing how gullible some people are.

Something often attributed to P.T. Barnum comes to mind.....

Classic is up to their same old tricks with the M39s. If anyone was thinking about buying one from them don't. You wouldn't believe the mangled stock they sent a newer collector. He posted it on the RMNF. I thought he bought one of the broken stock ones. Sadly he didn't. Curious to see what ridiculous price they put on the French MAS and other rifles in their last video.

Heard nothing but bad things with those rifles. One of my buddies bought one and sent it back. Cracked stock with rusted metal.
