Questionable Camos

One look at all the fake ZF41 cans and ZF4 cans tells the entire story about how far fakers will go and how good they have become. If I see a pristine or nicely aged scope can for sale, my first thought is "fake". Guilty until proven innocent. After all, its MY money.

Indeed. That's a much tougher think to fabricate than a camo helmet. :googlie

Zf39 cans were more of a story..... The French fakes flooded the market and depressed and killed the "real" can market which of course was WAY over inflated to begin with.... Now they just sit unsold.....

A nice story,,,unfortunately without pictures or more proof,,,it remains,,,,just a story
you guys are sure imaginative when it comes to trying to explain dozens of "rare items" and multiples of even rarer pieces
but they are just tales,,,,

I dont care it you believe it or not like i dont mind your opinion. So take the milk, stay quiet and let play to adults.

If you learn being quiet it wouldnt have happened what is happening to you.

Wow... This post sort of sums up a lot of the recent comments and the attitude that they display. Coming to this forum, insulting members, and then calling them children? Right...

Sure, I should have been quiet,,,I would still be on that forum, but you know the saying,,"all it takes for evil men to triumph is for good men to do nothing"
if the place is that corrupt,,then I dont belong there

Interesting how Niblet doesn't get your attention when he does the same.

Just for levities sake,you know?

Maybe M45's comments -spot on or wrong- are already affecting the value of their over prized cookware.

So they sent out the agents provocateurs to take care of the renegades at the k98kforum and belittle them on their own turf without limits or boundaries, well knowing that k98kforum will not censor. But now it's beginning to backfire on the agents provocateurs.
We have exposed and survived SS fakery, sniper rifle fakery, sniper scope fakery, scope can fakery, and we will sure as hell expose and survive helmet fakery. Not to forget the public dismantling of the ridiculous XRF clown show. The scam-pain ruin fiasco was just the beginning, with more to come.

It has nothing to do with being an admirer of M45; as a matter of fact, I fault him for not giving enough credit to Doug B for his work. And it's less about dinging owners of over prized cookware than it is about exposing those who took them for a ride.

So, im here, sent by a dealer to destroy M45 reputation and disacredit all What he says?
Lol !!! But wish you were right, i would ask helmets as payment for my job :)

There are only a few guys at GWH2 taking extreme shots at our entire entire site when the fireworks and imbroglio involves about six (6) people total on both sides here. GWH2 shut that unwarranted flaming of our site down. And, to GWH2's credit, this really is a poster thread for a bit of censorship. Metaphorically speaking, while Miranda warnings do save some real scumbags from the punishment they deserve, it is also a part of our free society. The price we pay for transparency is some of this bullshit. I've found that sometimes censorship and thread locking encourages is those who come to a forum to incite and flame to stop a discussion they don't like. GunKraut, you pretty much exemplify why we in K98k collecting, this site, our members, don't have such histrionics at all really. I think we all got a handle on this end of the hobby about 15-20 years ago. I'm proud of us and this thread just makes me more so.

PHP:

More bizarre by the minute.

M45 has already been exposed.

Why is no one else concerned that M45 totally botched a basic ET M40 Heer helmet?

He can't even get one of the most popular iconic German helmets right and you trust him on camos?

WOW.........

Exposed?? Exposed how? as far as I'm concerned he is one of the saviors of this hobby
freely dispensing his knowledge to aid all of us

Wow it seems a very intelligent post by STUG, I thought I would like him,,,
I believe that post would be more appropriate over on GHW2

Make no mistake, there has been an explosion of fake camos, starting in the mid 1990s and increasing in the 2000s as they became more popular. The fakes are far better now, and fakes are being compared to fakes. I don't mean my comments to undermine that observation, which I deem to be more of a fact than simply my unsubstantiated opinion.
When fakes become the standard to which to compare to there is a big problem. I am sure it has already happened with camo helmets. When that happens some dirtbag with art skills can make a pretty good living. While honest hard working collectors get burned. My general feeling with this thread is there are a few who are overly cautious and a few who maybe overly confident. Both I am sure have been right and both likely have been wrong. It is a scary realm of collecting.

How do you explain him totally getting wrong a basic 1 looker ET M40 Heer?

He said the decal was unidentifiable and should be a no decal factory lid but didn't know what the lot number was?

How do you explain that away?

And we are supposed to trust his judgement on more complicated camos?

The thing is though ,nobody's gotten it perfected yet.Yes there have been a few that have fallen thru the cracks but overall the fakes still get exposed.

Nibbles: You really need to sit down and form your own position. Moreover, you need to learn to argue issues without copy'n'paste from someones posts and coming across like a sock puppet in the process. Brian has points; you just look like a fool parroting things.

And, if he is a savior, please, help me, let me know where is your position in all this tale?, because the only thing i can see you are being fired from everywhere... corrupts all? or are you the only one with the problem?
