Questionable Camos

I have too give mcorioles alot of credit he seems too one of the few thats willing too share camo helmets out of this collection. I will say thanks for taking the time too do that. Anyway my knowledge of this is rookie status. But I will say this that helmet seems too have alot of even wear all over it not too mention the well worn liner. Most of the camo helmets I come across look brand new and have nice pretty liners. I wonder why.

Too be honest the last camo helmet I came across had fresh rusted areas all over it and white color stains over the rivets. Believe it was aged by salt water.

No problem.I feel ,put up or shut up and am willing to defend my helmets.

I'm posting new shots or the woodchip wire as promised tomorrow with my response to why it's real.

Again,I don't want to sound like a "know it all" I've just spent about 15 years learning and yes I still make mistakes ocassionally.

I'm going with real. Not too shiny. Lots of wear. Cracking in paint. Worn looking liner. Let's see if I've learned anything.

If this was the prevailing philosophy in camo helmet discussion, or life in general, we'd all be better off.

But seriously niblet explain why you think this piece is wrong I want to hear your thoughts on this. I just gave my opinion on it and I've already said my knowledge on this is limited. But I want to hear your thoughts and don't just copy and paste the thoughts on this from M45 either. Why is this one a Pink Floyd fantasy piece as you say.

another modern art masterpiece ,well....not really..... it looks like Perry Floyd went after it in his garage with some Krylon
Have I learned nothing? Why is this one fake? I have closely followed this thread and it looks like everything is correct there that everyone has talked about.

You have to give specifics Niblet because otherwise you are just as guilty of generalizing.

I don't think he can capt14k. M45 has not said anything about this one yet. Too be honest thats about the only thing I have seen from Niblet so far. If M45 says its wrong he goes along with it over and over again. I don't mind someone agreeing with someone but just being a yes man over and over again gets old. Explain why its fake not just because someone else does.

Thats no different if someone posted a K98k rifle on here and I said it was fake. The answer would be why Warrior. Oh I don't know because lol.

If you look closely this helmet has lived 2 different lives also. The tan base coat is not sprayed. There are lines around the circumference of the helmet, brush strokes.Seems logical it's was brushed first for 1 theatre then green and red addd later.

So it probably started out as a Trop, possible DAK since it's a M35DD.Then the green and red spray was added later, notice the paint splatter.

Hoping to steer this one back to the shore..... This was better posted elsewhere and if he posted both sets of photos it would more clearly demonstrate points I have made for some time....

These taken in direct sun or light source it looks too bright the green looks off... Then look closer I like to examine paint and decals ect. with a loop.

Focus areas bullet or shrapnel strike in front. Damage to the rim shell torn paint is gone and is tearing up and away a pattern near impossible to replicate unless the guy shot the helmet or exploded a shell next to it !!! I guess if he was looking for effect.

Next other areas but look at cracking of the paint over the decal. This is caused by the lacquer used to seal the decal on the shell.. Typically the paint on the lacquer cracks or flakes off. Lacquer and any other type of paint don't mix. Ask any old body man.

Again you are only getting a fraction of all this without holding it in your hands and using your other senses.

Yes,you are correct, you can even see the difference between the ones with more sunlight.

For comparison, look how dark it looks indoors.
