Bolt mismatch. Boy, does that trigger guard stand proud of the stock...but it is the correct, unsanded stock numbered to the gun. Jeff

Kar98a SN#427a. Unit marked to 3rd Hussar RGT, 4th squadron (Hasso Von Mantuefel's unit in WWI) Receiver, stock, and bands match. TG/FP and bolt mismatch, unfortunately. Jeff

    My tiny Imperial collection

Thank you! The 98a is a Spandau 1909 with correct sling. I thought I did photos in another thread, but I didn't. I'll do a set tomorrow morning. Jeff

A picture of Loewe's back yard

I found this in pages of a book which was my uncle's, that's a lot of stacked rifles. Note some piles with no fixed bayonets, some with. Jeff

possible High Turret K98? BYF 44 G prefix!

Bases, no. Forward rings are numbered to the rifle generally speaking. (Though Sauer numbered the rear ones as well) Jeff

    Older waffenamt code book source?

That sucks. Ken obviously put a lot of time and effort into it. I mean a LOT. They didn't even bother to change the font on the cover. Jeff

    bmj 6x30 Dienstglas rig

Is wartime Romanian contract a possibility? To me, that is more interesting than wartime German (I have plenty of those). Thanks!

    GEW SS Rework

The stock it came in - note the green pencil in the channel? It looks like a stylized "SS" one on top of the other. What connection to reality that has I have no idea. No finger grooves. Jeff

    GEW SS Rework

Resurrecting an old thread. The Gew stock doesn't fit the profile I have seen on others, I do not believe it is the correct stock. We still have the stock just in case, but it is a mismatch to this rifle. No provision has been made in the Gew stock besides length (and it's duffel cut so who...

K98 carry case, anyone have one?

I know in modern (current) military aviation (US Army) there is an Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) shop that has an issue sewing machine and all the doo-dads to sew up equipment, survival vests, etc. It stands to reason that the ability to do stuff like that was also part of an aviation...

    Older waffenamt code book source?

That's shitty. Great book, tell him thank you for his work, I have used it for years, I bought them at a gun show in Wisconsin. Jeff

    Older waffenamt code book source?

Guys, I have a couple copies of a book I believed was compiled by a collector (or collectors) at some point. It is softbound, one in pink and one in white. It is a vast typewritten collection of Waffenamts, three letter codes and manufacturers, etc. It is all photocopied and bound. No author...
