Gentlemen This poped up locally, I was curious if this is a real High turret Byf G block, I at 70 percent sure it is not seeing how the firing proof is not located by the serial number where is should be, instead it is at the top like a normal production Byf 44, it also has a smooth cupped buttplate! Plus the receiver is not like in the white, because of the mounts being on over the years! I know the low turrets mad in 43 did not have the firing proof by the serial number, so is it possible this could be a Low turrets, any info is welcome! These are the only pictures I got! My Question is. Does she look Legit!? Thank you Gage!

Very interesting find !

Here is a photo of my G block High turret... pretty close serial numbers.
We can see lots of similarities.. the eagle stamp, The G typography...

Can you add pictures of the bolt action please.

Congrats !

Hi Toorop Not mine yet, but have not pulled the trigger on it because of that reason not knowing if its real.

With so many HT copies out now, the hole pattern in a receiver doesn't mean much without everything else.

Who knows how it got that way, but it didn't happen in 1944 I'm afraid.

Bases, no. Forward rings are numbered to the rifle generally speaking. (Though Sauer numbered the rear ones as well)
