    T-Gewehr Mystery

The keel is perfectly rectangular. The short ends squared-off at right angles. The corresponding inlet to the stock has rounded ends; I suspect from the routing process. Agreed, not recoil related. It doesn't appear that anyone with any level of authority was concerned about the recoil...

    Jwh 41 bayonets

Hey Monnie, Correct to leave out the 41crs numbering anomalies. Still trying to figure those out. The Tr as well as the other strange blocks (L, S, etc). Standard letter blocks will start with 1 or 0001, depending on the maker as well as time period. Some firms used leading zeros while...

    SG42 toolkit bayonet

An original second model S42 in every way; bayonet, scabbard and tool insert. Congratulations as they are not easy to source. A few possible condition issues ie; sharpened blade, patina, some apparent surface corrosion, leather blade buffer is missing, etc. Does the locking lever function...

    T-Gewehr Mystery

The "keel" was added as a production enhancement to improve stability and fit between the stock and action. One of several improvements that occurred over the course of manufacture. Not addressed by Kern but will be detailed in the reference I am working on.

    Jwh 41 bayonets

Splitting hairs my friend but the blocks are 10.000 each. I have owned several jwh41 over the years. They are hard to find especially in matching collectable condition. I tend to agree with Andrej in regard to the production commencement and overrun into 1942. The 1941 was definitely the...

    Yet another Infanteriemesser...

As Scharf stated there are many variations of these combat knives by numerous individual makers. And for some makers even different trademarks used over time. It should also be noted that by far the greatest majority of Infanteriemesser 1942 are completely unmarked. Here is a short list of...

    Pre-War 30s German (?) Unmarked 84/98 III Bayonet Sneak / Blanco / Behoerden / Export?

Thanks for posting this interesting bayonet. Are there any markings hidden on the top or bottom "flats" of the locking pin/lug? Press the circular locking nut down and take a look. Also of note are the oblong holes in the flashguard. The change from round to oblong flashguard holes did not...

Late war diverted/salvaged Eickhorn Behoerden (commercial) 3rd model

May not completely understand the response above but I stand by what was previously stated. The Eagle WaA519 marking on the blank spine is not unique to Hörster. All of the Solingen producers exhibit the Eagle WaA519 (during this period) and for almost all makers it will be found on the blank...

Late war diverted/salvaged Eickhorn Behoerden (commercial) 3rd model

Thanks for the summary on these late Behoerden models pwcosol. The information above however regarding the Eagle WaA519 acceptance stamp is inaccurate. This marking in that location is NOT unique to Hörster. Almost all S84/98 produced in Solingen during this period bear this marking...

    Post war issued CMR 45

Nice one. Agree that the other components are not period but that does not make it "post-war issued." Who knows when they were added or by whom? Decent can that only needs the correct war-time components. Thanks for posting .......

    COF 44 "Y" Block

It does not have a final inspection. I agree with Andrej that it would have originally been fitted with the flashguard. Note the length of protruding threading on the bolts as well as the recessed heads. In other words, standard scales, spanners and bolts; just missing the flashguard...
