U.S. Army tests the "New Mauser Rifle"

Fantastic, Thank you for sharing! A couple of things to note. The rifle discussed in the first document is not a Gewehr 98, but more likely the export type 1904/1907, possibly a Chinese rifle, given the last document. HOWEVER, note that the guide rib noted in the document and in the...

    Mauser K98 blueprints

Send me a message with your email when you get a chance, I can't remember if I have it or not. There's a couple minor issues with this train of thought. Not that it is wrong, or shouldn't be pursued! Using a CMM, since you have access to one, will be a great way to measure the back of the...

    Mauser Patent Infringement

My apologies for the delay in posting these. We traveled for the eclipse and our location had limited connectivity. Jon sent the following regarding the Mauser patent case, and as mentioned there is more in his Archive book. "I have over 300 original docs on the Mauser/Springfield case from...

    Mauser K98 blueprints

No worries, I do it for a living and still do it myself. Happens more than you would think, even with modern drawings. I typically try to find 2 to 3 versions of most drawings due to missing information, illegible dimensions, or hard to understand dimensions. Different companies, arsenals, and...

    Mauser K98 blueprints

Are you measure the 10,0 dimension from the radius to the tip of the extractor claw? This is a tough dimension to measure, and did vary. Or, did you mis read the 10,9 as 10.0 on the height of the extractor?

    Mauser Patent Infringement

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. More on Mauser’s patent battles can be seen in Speeds Archive book. I’ve done some looking around online at comptroller and others attempting to find more records regarding the patents, but never found any. So thank you again for sharing these!

    I'm seeing stars

There are a couple of options, but it would be best that you pull the barreled receiver from the stock. First instinct would be to say that it is a "Patrone 88" rifle, but the bolt face and extractor say that is not the case. Second would be that someone, like an idiot, may have reamed the...

    front sight removal

His name even says roughneck, you guys are lucky he didn't use an 60" pipe wrench to remove it! We all come from different backgrounds, experiences and expertise. Sometimes people do what they can with what they have.

Is This a MO Standard Model Bolt?

I'm going to be the voice of dissent and say that it is simply a commercially proofed straight handled bolt. Without other markings to tie it to Mauser it could have been any number of other manufacturers and could be pre-WWI, or post WWI. It could be a "military" rifle sold commercially, or any...

    Mm410b blued bolt?

My rifle is a 219, and the bolt face looks identical to those shown above. Bolt handle, bolt plug (good use of original nomenclature GEM!) and safety are blued, bottom of plug and cocking piece are polished. The only determination of dating that I know is the BU vs Eagle stamp. To my knowledge...

    Mm410b blued bolt?

I know the survey isn't set up specifically for the MS series, but it's be great if you filled it out as best you could for those four. I need to dig mine out as I don't remember what is what on it.

Value of this Mauser-Werke Oberndorf .22?

I'm surprised you didn't get any responses. Normally someone would have jumped in and said we would need more/better pictures. We would need to know where you are. Bore condition and matching numbers is a important factor. Based on what I can see, it's a easy $500 rifle in the US. Matching...

    Neat mismatched gew98m

Very neat indeed! I like the mix master g98m's, they usually have some interesting parts on them. Who knows how these got to Albania? Spain? Shipped before the war? During? Post?

I sent an email and am just posting this so that this thread is easier to find if I get a response. Not holding my breath!

What to call Mauser "Pre B" 22 rifles

Doing some website work today and getting a few new items listed/organized. I have a batch of action screws in process for the "pre-B" series rifles. These are smaller and a different configuration than the B series. The problem I am having is what to CALL them? If you were searching for pre B...

    Wehrmannsgewehr?

Mr. TheSmorgMan and I came to an agreement on my purchasing this rifle. So once it shows up I will take some more pictures and post more about it.
