    Photos from the same group?

Yes, you must be right. The one on photo1 is likely to be a MG gunners pouch. Thanks for letting me know.

    Photos from the same group?

Yes, B of photo2 certainly has the ZF41 can, and I have been wondering the one on B of photo1 is also so or not. Photo 1 Photo 2 The can on Photo2 is a very early type with the hinges inside.

    Photos from the same group?

I happened to get these photos from a different place and at a different time. Photo2 is dated September 1942, and Photo1 seems to be a few years earlier assuming from the K98k configuration. I am wondering if these men, A, B, C and D, are same person. Please let me know what you think. Photo1...

    ZF41 Study

This time, I have made a video explaining my ZF41 database. Perhaps it would also be a guide for the major markings found on the mount.

I have a wartime US military document on the ZF41/1 (Type3 scope). Perhaps this might help.

    ZF41 Study

Let me explain once again for someone new on the forum. I have started making a website on the German Rifle Scopes of WWII, mainly on the ZF41 scope, since 20th October 2003. http://zielfernrohr.b.la9.jp/ And have been gathering information on the subject. Now in the site are several...

    ZF41 Study

As I have shown in my video, I have estimated the production number of ZF41s from the serial# of my database. Total number ZF40* and ZF40 I believe the actual production number of ZF41 would never be under 200k and the ZF40s be around 30k.

    ZF41 Study

At last, I have managed to make another one. 100,000 ZF41 with 3,000 ZF40 are obviously too small.

    ZF43(B)

Special thanks to Absolut, I have updated my ZF43(B) page of my website with his brilliant pictures. http://zielfernrohr.b.la9.jp/zielfernrohr_030.htm From my ZF41 database, I have found the ZF43(B) serial# range 143100 is right between ZF41 Type2 and Type3. 142911 Highest Type2 (ZF41)...

    German scopes question

Thank you for your comments! Yes, being aware of your surroundings is beneficial when you are in battle fields. That is why the low powered LER scope now finds its way as a military scope rather than a hunting scope. I believe the use of ZF41 would have been ideal if mounted on...

    German scopes question

Great information here! Thank you all for sharing! I had been wondering from where the idea of LER scope of ZF41 came. I have never thought it had such a history. I would like to know more about it. Since the LER scopes are not suitable for long range precise shooting (pure sniping), I have been...

    "Kay"code - Ford Werke Zf41 scope?

In the old book “The German Sniper 1914-1945” by Peter R. Senich, “hap” and “kay” are listed as the manufacturer of ZF41. And Richard D. Law says in his book “Sniper Variations of the German K98k Rifle” that he could not find any example of those two makers. During my research, I have gained...
