Update on FG42 from SMG Guns

He told me the same thing. Type 1s would be ready 1st quarter of this year.
I think he is wanting to get this run of type 2‘s completed before he gets back to making any more type 1’s. If you are not the patient type, then the purchase of these rifles is not for you

It's not the amount of time that is the issue. It's the lack of communication with his customers. Some updates would be nice.

Don’t presume to tell me what is suitable for me to purchase.

My worry is that by the time the t1s are ready, we will be in a much worse economical situation that many smarter minds than I are predicting. Many of us now can afford to pay for a type 1 we ordered 2+ years ago. Will we be able to 6 months from now?

I'm sure Rick is working as fast as he possibly can. The more he cranks out, the more money he makes. Some more communication on his end would be nice but I'm not expecting these anytime soon personally.(even though early 2023 was the later update)

If you’re concerned about being able to afford things like this in the future, wouldn’t it be more wise to use your spending power now to help secure your future?

sheesh, lots of unsolicited advice being thrown around here. I am with John, the lack of communication and constant huge time delays are troubling. And there is no blaming this on material availability anymore.

The rumor mill has made me begin to worry if we will be receiving our T1’s at all. The above mentioned issues do nothing to relieve that worry.

The first batch request for payment went out December 20th, and 8-10 weeks later the rifles went out. (based on previous posts in this small forum)
The second batch (also type 2's) looks like payment was requested March 3rd, and will most likely be done in 8-10 weeks (May 5th).
If the third batch is type 1's and the schedule stays the same it looks like the email for payment sometime will be around May 12th with the rifles arriving sometime in mid to late July.

Rick is working his a$$ off. He is first and foremost a honest and honorable man.
I dont think anyone is insinuating otherwise.

I cant speak for every material required but at least the main one (steel) is half the price it was last year and readily available. Not that it matters, as I’ve said before my guess is labor is likely the problem. And I’m sure after all the effort nobody wants to produce them more than he does.
