Update on FG42 from SMG Guns

I emailed Rick this morning about scopes for my Type 1 rifles I ordered. He said he is trying to have them finished the 1st quarter of next year. And I am at the bottom of the list as I sent in my deposit on January of this year.
 
Ouch! It's crazy to think some have had an order since January 2021.

Having one of his T2s though I can promise those waiting that it's worth the wait. They do an amazing job.
 
I see what you did there, plural. You ordered more than one Type 1, I love it.

I came close to ordering a Type 1 and Type 2 together but decided I had better wait until I have one in my hands first.

I also ordered mine with a scope so it is looking like next year instead of this year for me. For reference I ordered in May of 2021.

Rick sent out an email today trying to help connect buyers with sellers on FG42 item related stuff.
The last paragraph he mentioned doing a small T2 run followed by a small run on T1s early next year.
He went on to say there are some weeks where there's just two of them working alone there. (Hopefully they don't get burnt out under all the pressure.)

We are currently working on putting together a run of T-II FG42's to be followed by a run of T-I's. Ok, there will be a number of small runs of each that is going to stretch into first part of this next year. This is because some weeks there are a whole (2) of us here so things are taking longer than expected. I am sharing this in case you are still impatiently waiting......

Looks like several more months before I will receive my Type 1. Man, I was hoping for a beautiful Christmas present. His last email pumped me up.

Oh well.....this idle time will probably force me to buy something else while I wait.
 
Hey All.
I got an email from Rick last week asking for final payment. He predicts the current batch of rifles will be ready to ship in the next 3-4 weeks. I ordered a Type II and my deposit was mailed to him in April of 2021. I already own a Type I and it is amazing. I am excited to add this to the collection! Just thought I would give you guys a heads up if you're also waiting.

Interesting. I sent my payment about a month after you, but for a type 1. No word on that yet. Rick is running T1 and T2 batches concurrently I guess? Was always under the impression he alternated
 
Awesome! Can't wait to get mine. I was email with Rick a few weeks ago and he was saying that 1st quarter of next year my rifles should be ready. Fingers crossed.

Some of us had our orders for type 1 rifles in two years(January) and have heard nothing.

Rick did mention type 2s would be going out first but it still is painful realizing some of us have waited for 2 years now..
 
I just looked back at my emails, I sent my deposit for my Type II out to him on December 24th, 2019. What a wild ride it’s been.

My deposit was received late April/early May of 2021, having a BD44 kit (DK Production Group) built while I wait. I guess our time will come eventually...

I'm in the exact same boat. I also ordered around May 2021 and I've actually got 2 mp44's being built. One is original and one a BD kit.

I just got an email from Rick today. He will be test firing the current batch of rifles this week (rain forecast permitting) and shipping by Friday. If I receive my rifle next week, it will be about 6 weeks shy of two years. It is a Type II. I placed my Type 1 order in March of 2020 and got it March of 2021. I placed my Type II order a month later in April of 2021 and will likely receive it Feb of 2023. I'll post family pics when its in.

I'm assuming he contacted you regarding final payment already as well? I haven't heard anything from him since the last email blast about bolt finishing. Mine is a type 1.
