Bnz 44

I have a BNZ 44 which may be an RC, low serial number but non matching bolt.

Stamped Floorplate

Laminated Stock

Possibly re barreled at some stage, but in excellent condition almost 90-95%

No evidence of removing or altering of any proof marks or stamps anywhere on the rifle.

No inspection marks on the receiver.

Here's mine:

All Matching bnz44 (large) - 2453 Barrel - WaA623 - firing proof - DL and bnz 1 shield (stamped on underside of barrel, only part of shield showing)
Top of receiver bnz 44 only with 1 stamped top of barrel - right and left side of receiver unmarked - receiver has heavy machine marks
Rear sight leaf 2453 and E/623 - Rear sight base WaA623 - Rear sight ramp 2453 E/77
Bolt body: top 2453, bottom 3, back eagle - safety 2453 - bolt is a bit rough and has thin/poor blue finish
Stamped trigger guard with locking screw byf and E/135 - Stamped floor plate 2453 and byf E/135
Laminated red glue stock no external markings - 2453 in channel - handguard 453 in channel (can't really see the 2 and the 3 is stamped almost on top of the 5)
Extruded front band 2453 - Machined rear band 2453 - Stamped band retaining spring E/135

I have only included the parts and components that are marked in some way so if something is not listed it is not stamped or numbered.

Hope this contains what you are looking for and helps the effort!

No idea if this rifle will help your study, but here's my bnz43, 9549m. WaA623 on receiver top, one faint WaA77 on the right side (hard to see in the pic). M block rifle. Serialized on receiver. bnz1 shield barrel. Russian capture. No rune that I can see.

It will help if you post barrel code information on it. Thanks for the submissions!

It might be a bit outside the range you are collecting info for, but just in case, here is my other bnz. This one's matching, but sanded stock.

rear sight - unmarked except a 'i' on the slide

K98 Data

I have a K98 inherited from my uncle. He acquired the weapon in 1945 from a weapons dump beside a German POW collection point in Europe. I believe in Czechoslovakia.

Receiver bnz with small S rhune 43
Serial number 6596 is matching on the sight, sight base, receiver, safety and on trigger assembly immediately below the two front screws. Both stock and handguard has matching serial number 6596.
Trigger assembly and magazine cover are stamped 135.
Barrel - left side 8X and bnz1 shield. Right side WaA623
Eagle with schwastika on barrel, left side after rear sight and on left of receiver.
The weapon appears to be in very good condition with a nice leather sling. It does not have a cleaning rod but it does have a bayonet with scabbard and leather belt attachment.

If I can provide any additional information please let me know.

Man that is a real nice gun!! :hail:

Please don't change the bolt, and don't add any highlight to the gun in anyway.

:)

..

Please add my rifle to the list. Posted pics in this thread: http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php?11957-BNZ-43-SS-contract

BNZ 43, bolt MM (everything else matches)

Serial #: 9709 (on receiver)

Barrel Code: bC (BNZ 1 Shield) waA623

Bands: both no serial #

Wood: Hand-guard and stock channel stamped 9709 (no external marks on stock or hand guard)

Trigger-guard: serial # 9709

Notes: Two Circled V7 stamps on the reciever

So far, the latest (number wise) BNZ 43 Contract rifle recorded on the list?

Advice on originality

На ложе 98к увидел клеймо, оно оригинальное?
