Awesome additions guys! Both are very helpful-

jlj- your m block is one of the first of the rifles that were built with the late style numbering, and a VERY interesting E/623 receiver acceptance there, first I can recall seeing.

tommac- yours is interesting too with a JP Sauer barrel on it. Very helpful! I don't have pics of 7887 - if you supply the barrel code as well?

There was a eagle 77 on the right side of the receiver and anther mark cant make out but can try to pic it later if you need it.anything on the bnz44 ssn 7887 Thanks Tom

Hi Mrfarb here is pic of the eagle 77 on right of receiver and there is 2 eagle 77 on right side to on the rear sight vary small not the best photos .No comment on the 44 do you still have photos ?? Thanks Tom

No, I have them here but they are still packed up in a box Bruce sent me. With my herniated disc I haven't done much in the last 3 months. I'll dig it out and insert them in this study over time. Thanks!

What is the marks in picture 10 the right side of receive any idea Mrfarb.

The barrel code is "cy" with E/37. The CE code is for JP Sauer, so the barrel was made by JP Sauer and the bbl code is CY.

Ahh, yes, I found the pictures you sent of 7887, but there is no barrel code in the pics- thats why I didn't include it. I'll add it- find the barrel code on it for me. THANKS!

Why is this numbered and not matching??

Wrong picture??

I've pretty much entered all the info I have in regards to these. I have a lot of other reports that leave off the barrel codes - these submissions are useless in the scheme of trying to figure out the total production of these.

I have some bbl code info from simsonsuhl on early bnz43 rifles to add later, hopefully to fill in the early bnz43 builds.

Take a look at the two sections- SS Contract/Single rune and Army Contract. In my opinion, the SS contract and Single Rune guns are the exact same thing. Note there are no bnz44 single rune rifles on the list. I have others to add once I get info from the owners, but from here on out we need data! Everyone should look for SS contract, single rune data to add to the study- make sure you get this info:

Serial
Makers Code (bnz4 or bnz44, big/small lettering)
Barrel Code

Note the similarity right off the bat between the two.

Ss contract

Just found this one ss contract serial on receiver #2171 matching barrel code is [ bk "bnz/1" e/623 ]
no proof on the right side. Serialed just like all other examples i've seen..

here are some...

I got a few..Here is the latest--it's fresh on my mind

RC example soooo....

bnz. 4 (small)
Rune marked
7550 (on rcr)
Waa77 marked on the right side of the receiver
V7 in a circle RR receiver about 1/2 way above/below the wood line
no other receiver markings above the wood line.

Barrel markings
bnz 1 in a shield
CC coded barrel

Import marked

I would like to also input that there are differences in Rune markings between 43/4 (ie 1944) IMO---

Also the rune-like marking by the front trigger guard screw area on the BA as well as the bottom/side of the site base under the wood line are seen on common 1941-1944 IMO --kinda' hit and miss but it's not uncommon expecially on Waa77 and blank marked receivers...This rune-like marking is not the same size as the one found on the top of the receiver--different marking IMO. Maybe a study would help.

I'm sure Farb has it all figured out for the book but what I see is Radom & Steyr style runes. In '44 Radom was phased out so thats why you think they are different by year...

That is the obvious part of it..but I see more then that.

Last time I chatted with him, Steyr portion is in the "works".
