Slander?Debate lost?

You dont have to smell a pile of dog poo to know that it stinks,,,,
these abstract questions our European friend is posing is not applicable to anything,,he's just being a bag of hot air

GHW2 former net/painted camo.

Another Picaso - a work of art that appears out of nowhere.

Tired of the common Normandy 3 color camos ? I don't blame you.

How about a textured dark green + net + light green over paint, then net removed (with net ghosting) ?

Or is it net + light green - net and then + dark green textured with net ghosting ?

Whatever it is, it was quite a process to produce. I am noticing a distinct popularity of the ghosted camos - ghosted cluck wires, ghosted nets ; )

Of course near 99% of camo remaining - excellent condition, just the way we collectors like them.

BTW: I love Nazi ghosts :0

Now give us an assessment while you are at it as to why it's no good.

You gave us 7 sentences with zero information.......

I believe the assessment is another camo that is just perfect that just happened to show up out of nowhere. The odds say this is not possible.

Why do you think it is good?

I don't know either way but it is awful hard to learn when no one will say anything about the helmet and just bash the poster of the helmet.

The ghost camo is real, and is a one looker. How can I be sure?

I know the guy who found it, in a barn, in Norway. He paid less for it than you would for a helmet with no camo. The barn protected the bright colors, and since it was in Norway, it saw no combat use, hence it is in nearly 100% shape. It was then sold to a very famous collector, featured in a book, and approved by a popular helmet forum.

See, this is why its real. Prove to me that its fake. You can't prove it. Therefore, its real.

Lets bring this back down to earth..... The helmet was posted in the authentication section.

The person posting helmets they are from a collection of a decease friend . They have all been bad so far I said I wanted to like it but, due to the other coming from the same collection I would tread very lightly on this one as well and would want it "in hand" before I made a decision one way or another.

The poster is also is a member here. I wonder why he didn't post the helmets here for a fair evaluation ?????? Im sure he thought he wouldn't get one.

There is some visible wear to the dome if you take the time to look. Im not sure if the poster is liquidating the collection or is looking to purchase it ?

Either way he deserves a serious and well thought out response.

Of course two of the camo whores jumped on it and loved it ! LOL nuff said. Im a very cautious appraiser and evaluator of camo's. Part of me wanted to like it and the other part didn't. If offered to me Id want a hands on to be 100%.. Those who think its good or bad based off those photos is WAAAAY to smart for me...

Just from a complete novice perspective I see one small spot of wear on top and little of much else. It definitely looks like new.

Bravo,,,,thats quite a story,,,but one should buy the item,,not the story..
however again,,I will bite,,

if it was going to see no combat use as you say,,why camo it in the first place,,this seems somehow contradictory?
again, we have the mentality that since it was a "very famous" collector who once owned it,,then somehow,,it must be real,,,,
as well as having been published, again,,it must be real,,,,,
and last but not least,,,(my favorite) it was "approved" by a helmet forum,,and not just any helmet forum,,but a popular one!

I cant believe I even read that

Of course...but some believe in conspiracy theories as fact.

That one comment makes you sound like and idiot. "if it was not going to see no combat " ???? Right there... The troops in Norway had no clue if they were going to see combat or not and trained as if they would like any army... The Germans kept large amounts of troops in Norway for just that reason..INVASION..

You really need to think before you type... Camo is a great defensive tool and most late war helmets are camo'd as that's what you want to be able to hide is a fixed position for as long as possible.

I see no difference between my post nor yours,,purely conjecture on both parts,,,,I cannot really know what the German army was thinking in Norway as I wasnt there,,and neither were you,,,,

So, does anyone know if there were any rules/regs for camo'ing? or was it strictly up to the individual?

I hope my post wasn't taken seriously. It was a smart a$$ one, and was in total jest of course. Its just a repetition of what I see over and over, the same story/history being used to validate every helmet. If I hear about another "Norway" find helmet, I'm going to stab myself in the face. I see the same crap being trotted out over and over and over to justify and validate some new helmet every week or so.

I guess I forgot one or two:

"The camo is so bizarre and goofy that it looks fake. This is proof that its real, as no faker would be dumb enough to do this."

"Yea, the colors are weird, but it was wartime and anything possible was used. They didn't just have paint sitting around."

gHOSTED NET CAMO DETAILS.

The net braiding has made impressions in the tacky paint. So the helmet was painted, then the net applied prior to paint setting, and then net removed at some point leaving braid impressions.
