My BNZ43 Single Rune

The matching parts you show here are from an authentic SS contract “single rune” rifle. If people are saying otherwise then they need to study the SS contract thread much more. This is an easy call. The remainder of the rifle is mismatched if I recall, but it’s worth $1200 to many just because it’s SS.

Thank you, I'm new to this as most can tell, their are so many fakes out there and I'm glad experienced people like you agree it's authentic.I apologize for being a pain in the a with my uncomfortable feelings about the firearm.

No worries, it’s a lot of cash for an unknown. You don’t really understand all of the terminology and there are quite a few confusing responses. So you know definitively- matching parts are authentic to themselves, mismatched parts added after the war.

Thanks for all your help, any idea where it may have been made

Not sure what part you're asking about specifically? The base rifle was made by Steyr as part of their SS contract. The bolt looks to be mix-master. The shroud although buffed looked to have 2 x e/63 acceptance. It also looks like I can see part of the eagle firing proof on the rear face of the bolt root. If you can find the acceptance on some of the other parts it can help identify what rifle they would have originally been on.

I few more things that might interest you. Your barrel blank was provided by BÖHLER Edelstahl and ak was the steel lot for QC tracking and the circle W for the finishing in house at Steyr. You can see where your piece fits in the contract study thread here https://www.k98kforum.com/threads/ss-contract-and-single-rune-serial-study.308/ I'll add the extractor retaining ring on your bolt was most likely made by Erma from the e/280 acceptance.

Guys, I ended up grabbing this single rune from Chris (86toyotacentury) and although he may not be a k98 guy he is absolutely a stand up dude and great seller. Packaged like a tank and he paid for shipping out of pocket w/ great communication. Wasn’t holding my breath to add SS rifles to my small collection and now thanks to him and biggymu I’ve gotten a RC deaths head gew98 conversion and a single rune all in one month. Thanks again to both of them.

Congrats. Steyr just by themselves are a rabbit hole. Add the SS contract pieces and it gets crazy. I believe that's Mike's work regarding the study?
