My BNZ43 Single Rune

After looking at the other threads you’re right, this is not what I thought it was. I also recommend y’all look at that receiver again.

Okay everyone give me your honest opinion, did I get ripped off on my purchase.Ifvthiscis a fake I'm going to raise some hell. Some people are skeptical of the receiver. If it's a fake I'm taking it off the trader section because I would never cheat or be dishonest to anyone. The Antique shop Input purchased it from has an armory. It was stated a BNZ43 non numbers matching Steyr re build.Let me know I can take it.I should have bought a nice AR

Biggy you have been such a big help I accept criticism but do get concerned if something doesn't look right to people. Can you point me towards a good stock manufacturer in case I want to make this a beautiful range sniper-hunting gun.Any help would be appreciated

The gas shroud appears to be buffed and reblued. The side view of the root makes it appear to be abbreviated. Could you post a picture of a top view of the root?
For sure. And this saga highlights the importance of getting as many clear photos of all the important spots BEFORE making any decision. This would have been easy for members to see IF the photos were available.

I know you seem very conflicted over this rifle, but I'm unsure why you keep making multiple posts asking the same question, using the same photos? I count about 6 separate posts now concerning this rifle.

I'm not trying to come off as mean, but a single thread would suffice on determining its originality. I personally believe its original. There are a lot of extremely knowledgeable guys on SS rifles here on the forum, including the authors of the books. I'm sure they'd be happy to answer a PM as well.

Try to keep this to one thread for a while until you get it squared away. I think you have a dozen different threads on this rifle, so it’s hard for others to follow along.
If mostpeople sees something we don’t, let him point it out. There is safety in numbers. You have a rifle that cost less than a Russian Capture and is of a desirable type. It has its issues but if it hadn’t, you would have paid 4k for it.
Try and relax. It will be a fine shooter. There is nothing mechanically wrong with it. It is most likely a sporter restoration.
You can find unnumbered bands to improve its appearance if you like.
You have never provided pictures of the full rifle.
I would not be unhappy at all with the price. But each to their own.

I just got nervous because to me $1,200 was alot of money.I felt that I possibly got ripped off but feel better when people like yourself are knowledgeable.I never had any German firearms, always Japanese.I just need to learn how to use this site and forums better. Thanks for being patient with me.

Totally understand, it sucks being burned, but I think you're fine. Again, send a PM to mrfarb, he's one of the go-to SS rifle guys. I'm sure he'll be glad to look the markings over for you.

As stated in the other thread I have concerns about the eagle stamp. I asked y’all’s thoughts as, unfortunately, I am on the road now and cannot compare to known good examples. Thus my comment here recommending y’all take a second look.

I will say the pictures in this thread are concerning, but the linked thread they look better. I had not seen that one until you linked it.

Do you mean the firing proof?? It's fine. These are rarely faked as all 98k's will have them. I don't think it needs to be compared to "known good examples".

The receiver in that thread looks very different from the receiver posted in this thread.

OP did you clean it up? Trick of the lighting?

Those were the OPs original pictures when he first saw it. He has quite a few threads on this weapon.

If you're this worried about the rifle, put it on the trader for $1200 and be done with it. Everyone is telling you it's fine and you keep posting "Are you sure?" repeatedly.(hoping for a "no you got screwed???). I understand $1200 is a lot of money but I can't figure out why you bought the rifle if you're this worried about it. You'll easily recoup your money. Enjoy it or ditch it.
