Except it’s been going on longer. There was a group of guys who saw this creeping into K98k collecting during the early days of the internets and pulled together to try to stop it. If you get burned on any K98k it’s because you didn’t exercise the basic due diligence of coming to this free site. Ever see a thread here shut down or censored over humper outing?

Never.

I've never been a Luger guy.....owned a couple that passed but that was it. I've been doing some reading here on them especially what RyanE. has written What a hot mess.
 
I spoke to the owner of the purported HK #1 this past weekend at a gun show. He was playing it pretty coy, only saying that Legacy is handling all the details of the sale and that there were some offers early on but he doesn't know the current status of negotiations. I didn't even bother to ask about the gun itself.
 
I honestly know jack about Lugers, but I always enjoy these fraud busting threads. The state of some parts of the hobby, and their accompanying forums, is sad...and a bit hilarious. Like I'd expect this level of lying and cliqueness from maladjusted sixteen year old girls.

But I'm well aware of Tom's sketchy history with rifles, so none of this surprises me. Anyone remember the 'incredible' G41(M) with the dovetailed G33/40 stock?...Or the 'completely original' G41 sniper with a repro mount and ZF41/1 scope? And those are just a couple of the many examples.
