Low Cost Shooter Sniper Build Recommendations

There is a guy on gunboards currently called Juno1945 that has handful of some nice norwegian matching stocks, they are all flatplate though, with one phostphate finished cupped, that looks like it has a zf41 repair or some optic.

Sweet jesus, you went for the whole bubble gum card collection. :D Did you retouch any of those stocks? They look gorgeous.

Low Cost Shooter Sniper Build Recommendations

The Diatal D is a nice scope while being postwar, 225 is a good average price I see across sites. Unless you're looking for a all period correct mock sniper, minus the split ring high turret mounts, I'd say you'll be fine with either scope. Is your 1903A4 one of the replica rebuilds or...

    Ammo for Danzig 1917 Gew98

Brass will always be smoother, but if your chamber isn't badly out of shape and cleaned really well, steel case should work fine. Otherwise you might get sticky bolt.

    Ammo for Danzig 1917 Gew98

Old ww1 Gew 98 had a light ball s patrone which was around 154 grains I believe. So if you can find turkish surplus, that's about as close as you're gonna get (correct me if I'm wrong). Commercially, The Romanian 170 grain, Sellier & Belliot 196 grn FMJ are my top pics (as they are hot loaded...

    Sniper Pictures

Couple of fun ones I have in my files. I find the one with the in-the-white optic to be interesting as I can't imagine being a combat sniper with a shiny metal object, perhaps a propaganda piece?

Advice on a sporter to mock sniper project.

Thank you, does he have a preferred method of contact? This project of mine got put off far longer then I have wanted, the local gun show didn't help (other then finding a bunch of 8mm Ecuadorian s.S patrone ammo) however I think after I received my Zeiss Zielsechs scope from Germany about...

Advice on a sporter to mock sniper project.

I figured out the issue to my problem, mine was drilled and tapped along the receiver in a vertical fashion. I ended up getting a very nice turret mount that covers them perfectly. I 'm just waiting to find a good gunsmith that can install turret mounts, hopefully with tax season soon to be...

Advice on a sporter to mock sniper project.

Hey guys, I wanted to get your opinions on re-mounting an old sporter to a semi-mock sniper. It was previously drilled and tapped along the top (although roughly) and wanted to know if a high turret mount with split rings would be able to just fit right over it since the screw locks go in the...

    Howdy!

How do you do, fellow Mauser kids! I've owned a K98 for about 2 years now, and I just recently rescued another recently from the sporterizer's table today. My purpose for joining is I'm out to learn more about them and have a good base of knowledgeable people. My first K98 was a byf 42, that...
