Gew.98 Style Muzzle Protector - Country of Origin?

I picked up a Gewehr 98 style muzzle protector and was curious of the country of origin. It has no other markings other than those shown here. It was suggested that it was Swedish in the vague item description. There is a proofmark of a crown over a letter N, but it is not a Fraktur letter so...

    Anyone heard from Leszek Foks?

There was a post on Reddit today where someone paid for a Kar98a stock from him. He said customs seized and destroyed the stock because it didn’t have an ATF Form 6 and petition.

First K98. What do I got?

Well, then, looks like I learned something new today, and I am humbled by the experts here.

First K98. What do I got?

I’m not a K98k expert, but the BNZ and rune on the receiver look as fake as a $3 bill.

Unknown WWI sniper - need help

The book shows the Poles using a mix of domestically made PZO Warszawa scopes and German Zeiss scopes.

Unknown WWI sniper - need help

Absolut, thanks for sharing that link. I don't know how much I can definitely contribute to this mystery, as it is in pretty rough shape (and sniper rifles are a minefield that I have no interest in beginning to navigate), but I can make out a couple of things: The stock is matching and is...

    Amberg 1918 Bookends, 1117f

I hope I’m not the only one that read the title and expected to see that someone massacred a Gew98 and made it into bookends for actual books. 😅

Here is a photo I have been seeing for sale on eBay, showing Polish troops with Berthiers (carbines I believe).

What parts are missing off of my erfurt 1918 k98?

That is a (Spanish civil war) Polish Wz.29 stock set. It won’t be “correct” for your rifle.

Early Radom VIS 3 lever slotted B block

Excellent pickup Jory. You nabbed it at a good price. Just goes to show how lighting makes a difference in overall appearance. It is amazing how different it looks in your photos vs the sellers listing.

What parts are missing off of my erfurt 1918 k98?

Regarding PPHU Fox stocks, I know that he’s the “only game in town” so to speak, but he’s massively backlogged and has had family/health issues. I was waiting over 2 years for a repro Kar98a stock from him. Eventually I found a handguard and a stock with some hardware for less than what I paid...

What parts are missing off of my erfurt 1918 k98?

Bingo! AN-94 pretty much nailed it. You certainly have a leg up as you have the rear band with screw, which is certainly hard to come by. The problem with Kar98a sporter rescues is that other than the Imperial German and Polish post WWI carbines, they were not widely produced/adopted so loose...
