The wood doesnt have any numbers on it. The Yugo wood makes sense. Do you know anything about the rifle itself? It's in a Yugo rework stock. You say it's number matched? Post pics of all the numbers, if you could.
Steyr barrel. Serial number moved to barrel with lot code DX and no letter block. Hand stamp kinda looks legit. Wish we had better pictures.I’m not a K98k expert, but the BNZ and rune on the receiver look as fake as a $3 bill.
I thought same. It has potential. I was hoping for more photos and MrFarb’s view.Steyr barrel. Serial number moved to barrel with lot code DX and no letter block. Hand stamp kinda looks legit. Wish we had better pictures.
Are these popular or is there a very few? It's cool. Honestly it's a pretty deep dive. The very cartoonish nature of the 'hand stamp' bnz is kind of what validates it. Here's one from the book.

I'd have to agree. Mike might have an idea how many and how close to the end of the contract. It certainly seems salvage receivers are in the minority compared to new, excess diverts. Wasn't there a salvage G.24t used for a contract build posted recently? Sucks about the stock though.Very Few.
Wow! Thats awesomeView attachment 365142That's funny I have a similar k98k built on a Gew Simpson & Co receiver with the exact same serial number, 3052 no letter block.
That's wild about the serial number. Care to share more photos of yours?View attachment 365142That's funny I have a similar k98k built on a Gew Simpson & Co receiver with the exact same serial number, 3052 no letter block.
