    found a ES 340B

I'm still tinkering with those. They may not be commercially viable from a profitability standpoint. But that doesn't take away from the fact that I want several sets:ROFLMAO:

    found a ES 340B

If you decide not to use the Oigee I would be interested in buying it for one of my Mauser 22's. Nice rifle regardless. I prefer Talley rings myself.

    1876 Gebr. Mauser M71B Jägerbüchse #3676

That is a beauty! Great find. I used to have time to look through the RIA lots and really examine everything, but just haven't had the time lately. They are a great way to get rifles, usually at a reasonable price. 3 of my rarest rifles came from a lot of 7 from RIA. Terrible descriptions...

    Single shot Mauser 98 bolt?

This confirms what I thought. If you look at the bolt face, this has been welded on and modified. The "stand offs" are not "correct" or original, they have been modified. It was likely a attempt at building a 7.62x39 rifle or something similar. Why upside down? I have no idea!

    receiver Marking

I rummaged through a pile of receivers and took a quick look at a dozen or more rifles. I didn't strip any down, but here is what I do know. My knowledge on this mark pertains to Argentine contract rifles. Starting with the Model 1891, this mark was a firing proof mark applied to the receiver...

    Single shot Mauser 98 bolt?

I don't know what rifle it belongs to, but some more pictures might help decide that. I notice the bolt face is in bad condition, can you post a clear picture of the bolt face? I also notice there is no guide rib, another difference from a standard bolt, but maybe if it has round vent holes...

Where have all the OC gone? (Original Contributors)

To pile on what has already been stated, there is still a veritable endless mine of discoveries to be made. I know two locations in particular that have an astounding amount of "new" information that would be awesome to crack open. They both require time and money. When I have time, I rarely...

    receiver Marking

That marking goes back to the very early 1900's and is seen sometimes on contract Mauser rifles, various parts. It *may* be a early version of the WR seen later, but I have absolutely no evidence to support that. The way I have seen it used, it is more likely some form of fire proof or...

First Gew 98 purchase Schilling Suhl

The firing pin is a FN as stated, but it is not a boxed V, it is a backwards 4, this denotes when it was manufactured. I don't have anything in front of me, but that would put it in the 50's era *I THINK*. The original firing pin was probably snipped.

    GEW 91 info

You likely own some might fine Gewehr 88's! Every single one I have owned is cracked, usually in more than one place.

New here, and could use some info.

It’s a parts gun that someone modified. Pat is correct the bolt stop is Serbian, the bottom metal is Turkish 1903. If you post any pictures of markings we can likely identity the remainder.

    Mauser Oberndorf, Brno and Reparations

Paul, More than happy to help and contribute as possible. If you want to share those emails and documents with me, I will gladly organize them with everything I have received. I have a "database" setup where I catalog and save all my research, some other guys research, and of course anything I...

    US Navy Trials - 1893

I saw a guy put up story on US examination of the 1898 Rifle so here from the US 1893 Rifle trials the end report on status of Mauser rifle they tested by US Navy . Can you add this to those talks, I have some 200 docs on Us rifle trials 1893 and huge file on US/ Mauser battle for Mauser Patent...

    Mauser Oberndorf, Brno and Reparations

More contract data shows commission to guy who organized sale and total end price and not 1000 Mauser 7.65 pistols. Last pic shows some 20 N pistol 9mm designed by Mr. Nickl at Mauser , then note 1000 rounds for the Mauser Tank rifle. This sales had to occur before Treaty regs came on line in...

Mystery Rifle seen at local gun store.

I'd disagree. It matters greatly WHAT the rifle is, and condition. "in the white" is hardly enough to go on. A good condition Chilean 1912 rifle will sell for $750 +. An excellent condition matching Chilean 1912 can sell for $2k+. A Mexican, with Austrian provenance, can be more than that. A...

Mystery Rifle seen at local gun store.

Probably a Chilean 1912, but it could be Mexican or.... there was another one. Germans did take a large quantity of these when the war started. Walnut stocks of the era were very light colored, some were "blonde". I've got a Mauser made rifle that is excellent that the wood is bright yellow...

Help! Turkish 1893 stock info needed

You’d need to post pictures, the Turks “standardized” their rifles, but still made several variants while standardizing them. It’s not a one size fits all situation.

    DSM Stacking Rods now available

We have had several folks asking for these, and it seems like while there used to be several makers, those have dried up. Made from the original Simson drawing graciously provided by Mr. Whitely, for the Stockattrappe, commonly called the stacking rod in the US, for the German DSM Training...
