has a OIGEE small arms 3 post scope , trigger has a shoe on it not sure if or when it was added , action is smooth as butter , lift up the bolt handle and the bolts jumps back ,pretty awsome , havnt had a chance to shoot it yet , this time of year its all i can do to keep up with the growth on the farm , dont really know a awful lot about them only what little i could find online , kind of confusing between the 3 variations , stock is un messed with and original butt plate is free of cracks , scope is pretty clean , its not a Zeiss but for its age im impressed how clear it is

That’s a sweet rifle. Can you see through the scope easily with it that far back? A novel design, the 2 piece Weaver rings.I haven’t seen those before

actually yea its almost perfect for me believe it or not, i shoulder it and my sight picture is almost full and just a minor adjustment and the scope is full , and thank you very much

your rifle is actually an ES340N, not the later “B” model. I’ve been shooting one lately and accuracy surprises me. How is the windage set with this scope as the weaver mount is not windage adjustable?

dont know , the rings were on the scope when i bought it 5 or 6 years ago , it never dawned on me because i never used it , guess i need to find some different rings

what makes it a N and not a B? any suggestions on rings?

here is a “B” action - totally different from the “N” action. Looks like a scaled down 98 action, wing safety on rear of the bolt, Mauser 98 type claw extractor.

Original scope mounts with windage adjustment are relatively hard to find and pricey. I don’t know of any aftermarket mounts that are windage adjustable but there might be some. Might shoot it and see what it does. You may be lucky and can do without any windage correction or be “close enough”.

The scope is a nice vintage piece, I think correct for the rifle. The outfit looks fine on the rifle, personally I would try it and see. You might be able to run across some mounts in the future but enjoy shooting with the weaver mount in the meantime. Btw the correct mounts would be taller (because they are see-through) and less comfortable ( less cheek weld or none at all) at least to me.

If you decide not to use the Oigee I would be interested in buying it for one of my Mauser 22's.

Nice rifle regardless.

I prefer Talley rings myself.

If you scroll down to post 18 on this thread, you can see a period type mount with the windage on the front foot. Just something to keep your eyes open for. They do turn up. Like @oldwing said they are a bit tall for my taste. https://www.gunboards.com/threads/interesting-german-es340b-scope-mounts-w-update.198261/
those mounts are awsome , but i agree , look tall for me , i will try and make time to see what it does this weekend , thanks for the input everyone , i agree its correct for the rifle which was why i was excited when i found the rifle , the rings never even occurred to me which might be why i found it so reasonably priced , eBay of all places i think it was $80 if memory is correct

I've been tinkering with scoped Mauser .22s for a long time. The B models need the higher mounts to accommodate the sweep of the bolt handle upon opening.

I would be surprised that mounts without windage adjustments will work for a period scope unless you are fortunate enough for the scope to align perfectly with the bore axis.

As stated, original mounts are almost unobtanium. Took me about 6 years to find my last set.

CZ makes a nice set of mounts for the 11mm dovetail for their rifles but they don't have windage.

Note that there are at least two different dovetail profiles. Both are 11mm but the curvature of the top of the dovetail differ. Some mounts won't have sufficient clearance to slide on.

I made dimensioned drawings for a set of mounts from an original set. I thought it might have been easier to have a set made than finding a set. But that didn't work out as it wasn't commercially viable. If anyone wants a set of the .pdf drawings send me a PM.

And I have a nice post war German Weku 4 scope that I will let go. It has windage adjustment and works great on the older N models but is too low for the B models. Send a PM if interested.

I'm still tinkering with those. They may not be commercially viable from a profitability standpoint. But that doesn't take away from the fact that I want several sets:ROFLMAO:

It won't, pretty sure, be.
The nicest design is the "monoblock" mount but it is the painest in the a.... to adjust. The one I prefer, I like to spend my time just to proof that I handle it.
Front axle screw to be thightened enough to have no lateral lack allowing in the same time a free rotation, rear slot screw tightened just enough to allow windage adjustement without axial lack; and finally the windage adjustement screwes. Some reflection required for proper correction.

purchased a set of millet windage adjustable rigs/mounts , 1 inch with reducers to 7/8 , no instructions and im not seeing how they are adjustable ,anyone familiar?
