Super War Eagles!

Is it just the stock that's a no go ? or is the whole rifle not correct?

There aren't enough photos to completely answer your question. To the extent the metal parts are shown, they appear okay. The destroyed stock makes this one a $350-500 rifle. It is like looking at the Model 98 equivalent to a photo of someone who has had their lips injected but now their lips are ten times too big. Maybe they were "pretty", but it is hard to quit staring at the lips. This stock has been ruined. Whatever this rifle was, it is not any longer. It is hard not to stare at the painfully fake stock stampings.

Super K98's on Steroids!

I guess Super War Eagles really pay. Look at what the GunBroker Auction winner paid.

Ahhh. Ok thank you.

This has to be a joke or something is seriously wrong here. First he couldn't get anyone to place a bid at $1200. and then two guys go at it hammer and tong for over 3500??? And one of them has over 100 feedback? Personally I don't believe it. Not even a little bit. I would need to see the fund transfer before I believed this.

Pisgah observations are correct IHMO. Can't stop staring at those ridiculous stock stamps. I also do not believe this is 'all matching' as he claims for several reasons.

What a time to be alive!

I have 3 42/1940. I'm thinking I need to add super sized war eagle cartouches to them.

All right because you said so this rifle was brought up on the design board by Adolf Hitler himself. He wanted a rifle to have large war eagles on the stock to give an instant morale boost to the soldiers out in the field. So he took it upon himself to watch this rifle be developed with these extremely large war eagles showing the pride of the Nazi party and the love for ones country.

Very few were ever developed most likely this is the last of that certain group. These rifles were showed off in the field by officers to their troops. The troops took pride when they saw those glorious war eagles on the stock they felt an instant boost of confidence in the ability to defeat Germany's enemies.

This rifle was most likely picked up by returning GI he probably found this in a pile. Which is even a bigger shame being these rifles were most likely carried in a special case and only brought out special rare occasions.

When that GI saw those big war eagles on this rifle he knew this rifle was special. That's why he took it home and he never shot it and that is why the condition is mint.

The selling price of almost $4,000 for this special rare rifle is absolutely low this item is priceless most likely the only one left. The person who bought got a steal of a deal.

I've got to believe that the people humping these rifles could make an honest living if they worked as hard in a legitimate way as they do ruining rifles. I also wonder if one or both of the bidders that drove this up so high aren't actually the fakers themselves. Again, I wish these guys would stop trying to boost the profit on honest, legit rifles.

Some beautiful rifles in this thread, can anyone help me find a set of these rare scope rings I came across?
