PTR44 Semi-Auto MP44

Don’t ever think that. Bid what you won’t miss and if goes higher then so be it. You only regret the shots you didn’t take.

28K.....HOLY CRAP!!!!!

If anybody wants mine, contact me. I lusted after an MP44 from the time I was a kid and I swore I'd never sell this one until I was old, but I have to admit, I'll seriously consider selling it for 22K with a bunch of extra original magazines and other parts. It's also had the MP44 Wizard treatment.

Here’s what I would do if I owned a PTR today:

- Sell for 25k
- Buy new from Dingo for $5k
- buy 20k of gold and silver or ammo ;)

To bring it full circle though, some of the price increase is renewed interest in the rifle. The majority however is inflation. The person who bought that PTR for $28.5k is a fool, and that’s what this hobby is dealing with. I could buy a registered NFA Mp44 today, right now, for less.

Everyone thought I was crazy, a minty original C&R NFA registered went for $60k the other day.
Unreal. I paid $2700 for my MP43. I guess I’ll hold onto it a couple more years. The only thing that sucks is you have to pay the IRS 1/3 capital gains.

Great looking rifle, if you’re looking to sell some day let me know! How does it shoot with that can on there?

This ones never been cut, has amnesty papers and I purchased it from the nephew of the soldier who’s uncle sent it home from the battle of the bulge. Runs flawlessly. I have a Silencerco Octane 45k on it. I’ll do some better pictures of it in a few weeks.

Don't forget, people in non-NFA states couldn't get a registered MP44 even if they were the same price, so a PTR in those states has more value.

I know we throw this word around a lot on here but IMO this price is INSANE. Just because someone did doesn't mean it's still not utterly foolish. The craziest part to me is that it appears at least 5 people were involved in this madness.

Well the price has been steadily increasing from $7K three years ago and every one sold has been higher. This one was $8K higher than the previous high that I have seen.

Whoever it was will sure be a popular person here because they just made all of ours more valuable. You would think that anyone investing that kind of money has probably researched online and visited here, so whoever you are, here’s to you!

Timing is perfect by the way, prices sky high for PTR44’s just as tor brings in kits at 1/10th the price.

Seller is probably a member here…

*ETA: If you don’t see how this destroys the hobby I ask you to ask yourself: what if Tor raised his prices for kits $5k today? He could 100% do it with the way these prices are.

I don't think dingo's kits will effect the prices on these that much. At this point it's left the realm of "I want it cause it's a cool gun" and it's gotten into "I'm going to buy it because only 200 were imported and I'll make a lot of money."

Also when factoring in that most of these big spenders have neither the equipment/time nor the patience to have a qualified gunsmith build them up one for a kit.. And the fact that the build with new barrel would be approaching $7000.. (Factoring in 5k for the kit, 500 for the barrel and 1-1.5k for a good builder to do the job). They certainly want it now vs having to(god forbid) wait on a builders months long list.

I'm very tempted to sell my PTR-44 but even at $20,000 I love it too much.
