Tks guys. That's cool HM! So these may not have been built for the Luftwaffe Condor pilots? :googlie

Well that's Mike's from a surprisingly well received post about these on the Luger forum and I just thought I'd pass it to you over here.

Thanks. I saw the theories on that thread. Some were rather, eh, silly, though not as bad as the flamethrower corps Lugers :googlie It's what happens when you have a few guys in a hobby offering up their own bollocks and lore, which then becomes conventional wisdom and knowledge without any more support than some unvetted bollocks from a high post count / moderator / "long time collector".

I've not spent any time on P.08 / Luger forums, but some of the stuff I've seen unchallenged and accepted as information is remarkable for its lack of substantiation and vetting. It's this type of groupthink / resistance to alternative views that skid marked the helmet collecting hobby for over 30 years with the "Champagne Rune SS" lids. The SS lid guru Hicks who claimed to have coined the term "Champagne Rune SS decal" still states they are real, but no one has been able to produce one. "Sole source" and censored discussion leads to intellectual Armageddon and fraud.

"KU" marked holster

I have one of only a couple of known "KU" marked holsters.

Would love to see a clearer picture of the marking!

Is your safety lever marked 42 on the bottom? I have a 41 byf KU and it’s completely matching, but the safety is marked on both sides. Top aide is 37 bottom is 42. SN is 1337 KU

Mine is. The 42 indicated a Mauser made armorers spare part, and in your case the "37" is the last 2 of the serial. I am guessing Craig's is as well.

I think mine is simply numbered to the P.08 and is not a spare part. Tks fellas, I like it. I didn't realized I wanted one until I had the opportunity to get this one.

Recently had my hands upon a Kü, was matching including the black magazine floorplate. I remember it was weird to me because the side plate had a 42 stamped on it aside of the matching two last digits, now reading this thread it would identify that one as being an armorers spare part...

Mine has the black bottom magazine that is numbered to the pistol. I forgot who told me that the “42” was a spare part, but it was someone on this forum. You said the side plate on the one you saw was marked with 42 as well?

Ill get pics of mine up when I get home, my phone is not letting me upload them, but I just realized my grips are both marked 42 as well as the pistols SN and Waffenampt WaA 655 it looks like.
