Ok something is obviously not right here. Another turd lesson?

Before just posting and waiting for an answer, research. You are smart enough to get on a PC and send emails, then you can find the answers here. Read and learn.

This was the main point of my post, and i agree 100%. If every weapons forum had half the amount of easily searched info or 1/3 of the number of the guns we have in the pic sticky here, everyone would be a lot better off. IMO this is easily the best forum to find the info you're looking for simply by searching on your own.

I also agree that RC's have their place and are great for new collectors or people who dont have the luxury of being able to afford matching ones. But in general there's not much to say on them besides "welcome to the sickness" and "whats the barrel code".

I truly am confused as to why anyone would say that the members of this forum are not helpful. I myself have been collecting WWII German militaria since I was 10. I was taught from that time by a long time collector how to spot fake helmets, decals, markings and the like. That was my forum back then before the internet and yes there was such a time! I used to call him all the time to ask questions. He directed me to books and photographs much like this forum has. The reference material here is 2nd to none as is the breadth of knowledge and collecting experience of the senior members. I was always told to buy books before buying guns. I recall a time when you had to actually use books for references and research. The gentlemen who created this site and the vast majority of its members are 2nd to none. I have never had an issue when asking members (and you know who you are) for an opinion on finish or serial numbers but only do it after I have exhausted the reference material available to me. I chose to buy the books because there is nothing like them anywhere. If you don't want to buy the books then don't but don't come on the forum asking questions that are more often then not easily answered by looking at the reference material and then saying members here aren't helpful.

When I first entered my profession it was new to me. I would seek the counsel of the veterans only after I went thru all the information available to me. I never found any of them to be unhelpful or short unless I didn't bother to seek out the answer first. I wish you much success in your collecting and suggest that you read up and research as much as you can.
