New semi auto STG 44s being imported

yep no problem

I have a spare original trunnion that pete worked on, he has suggested I hold off from using it until the new ones in the video come out. I have a few kits worth of parts, I am going with a original populated barrel first for my semi build, and recon semi auto parts Hope they are hardened properly

Check your sears. I have 3 that were part of compliance parts Recon sold. They are soft almost like plain mild steel. A file cuts them easily. File just skates on an original.
My hammers check OK. Triggers are OK but not particularly critical anyway since they just push the sear up.

Thanks Pete

I assume its the standard heat treatment to hardened them,. game plan is rather than modify the originals or buy originals ( so called)on-line I thought I would go with the PTR ones. I read folks with PTR -44's had problems w/internals now its confirmed

Given that these aren't full auto, I wonder if you couldn't get a away with using something like Kasenite to surface harden the soft parts and make them useable? [

so I am told this may work, I m so used to harding parts with a mapp torch and salt water (some use oil) IE Ak variant receivers & rails, small rifle parts

Sure Jack, if you have experience with that then that may be a better way to go then. If you try that, let us know how it goes. I am still on the fence if I will be using the Recon semi fcg parts of something else and if you are able to harden it sufficiently this way I may try it as well.
