With the help of forum members, I acquired an all-matching AR 41 Kriegsmarine K98k serial# 62 e-block with the correct bayonet-matching rig. Thank you all who have helped me with this search. I am thrilled with this.

Good to see ya finally got it in hand. It's a very nice example, I really like the "N" marked bolt takedown disc as well. I wish my Kreigsmarine example was matching down to the rod 😂 congrats on the grab man. The sling and bayonet with frog and frog markings still well pronounced is icing on the cake.

Hey thanks a lot. I owe you one!

I was doing more research and maybe someone could help me but what does the code ASW41 mean on the bayonet? I believe I saw Kriegsmarine specific bayonets that were marked something else.

Usually there was added markings to the frog and bayonet but the ASW41 is the makers mark for the bayonet. Grab pics of all the markings you can find and post them in the bayonet section.

That was the code for maker E.u.F Hörster of Solingen, from 1941 until mid 1944.

Also can anyone tell me if the locking screws holding the capture screws are supposed to be numbered? Someone had pointed that out to me, but I am unsure how true this is? Thanks

Yes they are suppose to be numbered but I think that quit being at a thing in 1942 because of a decree from Hitler on rifle production to get streamlined because of the Eastern front.

Ok I see. So somehow both of my screws got replaced with un numbered screws then?

I owned one very similar. I think if you search my posts Ar41 KM it should be listed. Same date with just N north sea fleet mark with no inv #.

I tried to find it, but couldn’t yet. Do you by any chance have it stored in your threads?
