You see that rough corn cob looking surface around the pistol grip area? When the stock comes off the pantograph machine, that's the way it looks. In normal time they finish sand the stock on big wheels or belts (there are pics of this in BBOTW).yellowkid: I need educating. What do you mean by “chatter”. I have seen that term used in other threads.
To me, it means tool marks left in the material due, usually, to incorrect feed or speed of the cutting tool.
I have a feeling that, here, it means something else.
