Kennblaetter fremden Geraets

8 copies of the Kennblatter for the Handwaffen? Aren't there many more than that?

I only know of 4 over here, one in Austria, two in the US and one in Japan.
I'm sure there are more out there. But only a few.

Two examples of foreign weapon entries in Soldbucher, both from Wehrmacht prison guards, one from the WH prison in Paris and the other from the WH prison in Brussels.
Both guards got foreign weapons, the Belgian mauser rifle is entered as 451(b) with serialnumber 8962; the French rifles are entered as M36 and the other just as "franz".

My experience is that the weapons administration just writes it down in the Soldbuch like they feel how they should write it down, sometimes the official name but more often just an abriviation or code they have made up themselves; I doubt that they used a manual for it.

Hello Peter,
thank you so much!
Did you show the complete 451 (b) Soldbuch earlier?
Thanks
Wolfgang
PS:
I'll show the Landesschützen SB in the documents section later. It is interesting because the solider participated in some anti partisan operations in Slovenia.

No, I didn't show that one here, it isn't very spectacular, but for me it is an interesting one because the prison where he served was used by the GFP and the Sipo/SD to detain Belgian resistance fighters.

Amberg, Can you tell me how many pages are in the D.50/1 original you have?

I may be able to get a 267 page digitally converted version. At this time, I am not sure if it will be in a pdf file and if so it will be super large or I may be able to get it on a CD.

If I can get this and it is complete, maybe some of you guys want a copy?

I would like a copy! I have an original, complete, 1942 edition with updates. It is at least 259 pages and has updated pages; pistols, rifles, SMGs, bayonets, cleaning kits. I was going to get mine scanned like that and was talking to Pat about it. I had talked to some folks about getting together to split costs of a searchable quality PDF copy of mine.

Yes, it includes pistols, rifles, SMGs, bayonets, cleaning kits. I will know more in a week or so and will update then.

Pat - you owe me.

It would appear so...!

I'm in. Just let me know where to send the price of admission. I think Ham's idea of a searchable copy is great, but I have no idea what that would entail. Please keep me posted. Thanks again!
Pat

The problem with doing a searchable pdf is the script that the books are printed in don't accept that format. I've tried doing individual documents and it just doesn't work well.

This. I have a hard time reading that sometimes.

Jon Speed contacted me to let me know there was actually a total reproduction of the book " by firm Klemens W. Künnke. Its done in similar type of Brown paper and has 383 pages of rifles, handguns, Blades etc."

So that's another option if you can find one.

Maybe this?

Review mentions that some entries are still missing. Sounds like a neat project, if there is a way to verify that one has all the entries.
