Getting in 100 k98k rifles.

Last post for a while.(Hopefully too busy over next few days to get on.) Another teaser picture. Note the Heer/Army marked stocks. Also a few mixed in that had lacquer applied to the stock I'm guessing by later owners. Lots of nice slings mixed in from fair to very good condition.
I do not recall seeing any major/moderate pitting on any but many did have light/surface rust on the butt plates and especially the barrel/bands where a soldier would grip for parade/guard duty. Little finish and light rust in those locations but then have good/very good bluing elsewhere on some rifles. Most did not have this rust but a few did, nothing some bronze wool/kroil wouldn't cure imo.

I wish I could give more details but the importer has repeatedly asked we keep our mouths shut on the subject.(For now)

A NOTE ON SHIPPING
I ship USPS Priority(more expensive than UPS ground but less time in transit.) Rifles will be packed in between foam with bolt removed and bubble wrapped/zip tied separately. I've shipped hundreds of rifles this way without issue. I'm also going to add extra bubble wrap and cardboard to the muzzles for "poked through the box end" protection.
THAT SAID, IF YOU WANT A HARD CASE - For the extra cost of the hard case(on top of shipping charge) I'll buy one of the following off of amazon(Flambeau Outdoors Zerust Gun Case 50" or similar if it's more cost effective for the buyer.) and ship it that way. This will likely add 3-5 days to ship time because I must wait for the case to arrive via amazon.

Some of the more recent imports - particularly Swiss guns - aren’t actually surplus. Instead there appear to be buyers and brokers creeping throughout Europe, purchasing guns from the secondary market for export to the United States. Based on the variations in condition, slings, stock finish, etc, I am guessing that this batch probably originates from one of those buyers.

Switzerland is ... different. There are tons of these rifles around which have zero market in Switzerland for being too many to pick from. Hence (Swiss) dealers make large batches and do wholesale to the US where the price is better.

I'm also meaning some other stuff, like the DP-28 parts kits that Bowman brought in. They are clearly European deacts for the commercial market, as they have grinding/cutting/etc that isn't needed for an American import demil. This is all guessing, unless Alden tells us something or someone else spills the beans...

I noticed this and doubt I'm the only one but not one imaged k98k has the proper stock for a 1941 contract portuguese mauser. If I remember correctly they should have a cupped buttplate and not a flat. Still placed my order and am very excited to see what I get! But I wonder how every one ended up in a different stock.

From examples that I have observed, the "F" block of the 1941 contract had flat buttplates and usually had the Eagle "H" on the stock. The 'G" & "H" blocks had cupped buttplates and didn't have the Eagle "H" on the stock.

Very interesting. I'm still a novice so I've only seen a handful of examples. But that's very good info. Did those F blocks also have the portuguese crest stamp on the stock as well as the heer marks?

That's a big range, I wonder what condition a 900 dollar one is in. 🤔
Probably a ruptured barrel that was bent around a pole, straightened, brazed, and sold as if it is perfectly fine.

Ask me how I know.

Their $1700 examples, albeit all matching, are pretty rough.

*be sure to read the fine print, "matching serial number rifle and bayonet* is pretty misleading*
