Greetings, had a few brief moments during Thanksgiving to take some photos of a vet bring back all matching bcd 4 that I bought from the Vet. He was a tank mechanic in 3rd Army and served in WWII, he picked up this bcd 4 while in France and shipped it home disassembled in a field made box. It remind disassembled along with its bayonet and sling till I purchased it from him about 10 years ago or so. I do not remember if I posted here or Gunboard’s, either way enjoy. If I can I’ll try and take more pictures if someone has questions. PS sorry about the horrible lighting.

God Bless

amazing. so common in the Pacific and so unusual in the ETO. we all want a history/provenance for our "bring-backs" and this one is indisputable. did you manage to get anything else from the vet to make a grouping? really neat.

Unfortunately the Vet did not have the bring back paperwork and he was wanted his family to have his uniform and dog tags. I am very happy to of met him and to be able to have a small time capsule from the war. When I retire I’m going to see if I can carefully lay out the news papers inside the box to see how many there are.

God Bless

From what I remember, you’re retiring, selling the tractor (lol) and moving south very soon. is that still the plan?
