A large K98 and other German Rifles collection has come into my local GD

The muzzle cone on the 41M looks to have a metal band added to it for some reason and the wanked stock is about appealing as two 2 by 4s nailed together to hold the barreled action. What a shame!

It is possible that the barrel and receiver on the SS rifle could be legit. If so it would have been a neat rifle to own. Not many Kar98 to K98k conversions known. But unfortunately was most likely enhanced later on down the road to help sell it.

Couple pictures of the G41m too looks like a basement weld job to me on that muzzle cone. Only reason I could think is the muzzle cone could have been heavily damaged during prolong shooting. I wonder if the rifle got overly gassed at the muzzle end and burst the muzzle cone.

repro parts and accessories to enhance the collection and dealer went for it unknowingly?

this is why members here should not by repro junk, the estate fooled a dealer. maybe not a astute collector, but he is unknowingly ( knowingly) selling junk as the real thing. this is how the deception starts and will continue

if you cant afford a real sling for your collectible, you should find another hobby say gun accumulation vs collecting.

whats the going rate for a original sling $ 125-150 what is the cost of a original sight hood $ 30-50 bucks

This ar 1943 was in this collection also. Bolt matches but stock has been changed. Stock is a Russian capture that has been sanded. I also think the Receiver has been reblued as it is way to shiny. I grabbed it cheap but what a shame. Probably was a duffel cut and the original stock was probably tossed...😕
