1916 Spandau Gew.98 Polish Rework by FB Radom

To me it is a collectible rifle for sure. Replace the post war trigger assembly with original Imperial parts and you are good to go.
(trigger replacement should be handled by a competent gunsmith) if you decide to go that route , I probably have the parts you need.
Thanks for the follow up on this! It's great to know there is only the trigger that needs replacing for collectibility status.
I started from zero info to enlightenment, thanks everyone!

The trigger assembly you have is desirable. It may not even be post war. It is drilled for a sling, most commercial triggers are not.

Went to see a collector/gunsmith(where i had other much older items examined before), his first was: pity you ain't got the original trigger,as an aftertought he noticed the missing handguard.
As is he deemed ok the point of functionality.(safe to shoot)

Please go whatever route you choose. My point was only to make you aware that the set trigger assembly should be kept together, including the kick off piece and trigger housing. I can’t find anywhere in your posts where you say the trigger housing matches any other part of the rifle. If not sell it as a set. Check out what they are selling for online. Gew98 parts are quite easy to find.

The trigger assembly is in my view efficient, works fine ,they should have made it standard !
No matching numbers as you said:(

That detail caught my eyes:

Is it "Bóg" scratched into the wood? In Polish that stands for "God"... really interesting thing. Never seen something like this before.
