WMO 1915/16 Rastatt Christmas truce gewehr

Glad you like this one Jordan. Tim said he had looked up the Vet’s name and he was in WWI. I don’t remember if he mentioned what unit l, but he was from Chicago.

    8mm Portuguese

I just got some for about .80 a round. I see it anywhere between $.60 to $1 per round. Mostly depending on if it is on stripper clips or not. I’m looking for that exact ammo to feed my maxim. If you are looking to part with it pm me. Thanks, Connor

Where have all the OC gone? (Original Contributors)

I can’t call myself a long time member, but adding to this, I see a lot of Facebook/Instagram style posts popping up. Some from people who have been here longer than I have. If they want that sort of “hey look what I have” attention and the instant gratification of likes, they need to go to...

    Gew 98 Spandau 1916

Nice pick up. The Czechs ended up with a lot of German stuff post WWI. I’ve seen lots of imperial German parts on Czech 98/22s. From what I’ve gathered, they used up the German parts as they made rifles, then switched to ones they made.

    M83 Erfurt Reichsrevolver - 26.R.A.1.28

I hope the SOS stays that way for me. Best gun show haul I’ve ever had lol! Gonna take a while to work through then with my schedule. Once I get some rounds loaded up, with a buddy’s help, we will take it to the range

    M83 Erfurt Reichsrevolver - 26.R.A.1.28

When I saw it, I was hoping it was a Dreyse, Suhl made, or Oberndorf. I know those are far more rare than an Erfurt but I couldn’t pass up on such a nice one. Yep! His book is still in print and on Amazon, so I will probably pick a copy up. I forgot about it being partially in English.

    M83 Erfurt Reichsrevolver - 26.R.A.1.28

There is a good amount of wear on the grip, trigger guard area, and cylinder. Everywhere else that was blued has some scratches but is mostly overall nice. I’d like to learn more about these. Might have to pick up a copy of the book in German and translate it as I go.

    M83 Erfurt Reichsrevolver - 26.R.A.1.28

Picked up this Erfurt made Reichsrevolver 1883 off of Dave Rachwal at the SoS. It was made in 1893 and bears the Prussian Eagle on the barrel. I have to say this thing is absolutely stunning. Most of the time I see Reichsrevolvers with no finish, or they have been refinished. It’s almost a...

Anybody else have a great time at the SOS show ?.

I gotta say that my first SoS was quite a success. Picked up some nice pieces and a bunch of books for great prices. These will take me a while to work through as they’re a little dirty but in good shape. Can’t wait to tear into some of these books. I never get tired of learning new things. As...

    T Gewehr value/price.

I did see a T-Gewehr at .. amoskeag? Don’t quite remember, but it was on proxibid with an opening bid of 6-6.5k. I don’t think anyone bid on it as it just gave a “Lot Closed” where the sold price typically is, but I am still new to proxibid.

    1916 WMO Gew98 Auction Madness

It doesn’t show any sign of a post war update. The receiver looks like somebody used Birchwood Casey cold blue on it. Especially with how faded it looks. The cold blue doesn’t like to stick a lot of the time.

    Favorite Imperial Acquisition of 2023

My pick for the year is the 1905 DWM I got earlier this year. It’s not matching but it scratched the itch of a pioneer Gewehr. Marked to the 23rd pioneer battalion. From the research I was doing, they were the 2nd West Prussian Pioneer unit. They were a fortress pioneer unit. Founded in 1907...

    Spandau 1916

It is a very delicate process, but there are ways to do it. I am searching for a way that doesn’t run the possibility of marring up the stock.

    1891 Amberg Gew88

Should be 4th company. Someone will definitely correct me if I am mistaken.

    Spandau 1916

This is a bit of a leap of faith, but seeing that stock disc without an imperial cipher has me thinking it might be unit marked. I also don’t see any signs of someone making a poor attempt at flipping it. Taking a trip in the time machine and going back to this post of Mike’s, you can see this...

    1891 Amberg Gew88

It is marked to the 5th Bavarian Infantry Regiment, Ersatz Battalion. Also nice to see an untampered with G88 Commission rifle.

    1911/14 Erfurt Kar98a

It’s handy to have a bag of various milsurp calibers with you when you go to a show. An 8mm mauser, 8mm Lebel, .30-06, etc etc. it can save you a lot of money. It rides better too 😂
