I think the price was fair for what you received. The bolt is bad & the floor plate is wrong. Can you do a close-up on the serial / inspections on the trig guard too?

    1940 243 k98k bring back

Seems like a gun with many "things" going on.... Depot rework.... with replaced Geco barrel, 0,2 on the collar ... and then new rear sight added, with previous numbs Metal finish?? Any chance some of the "finish" is just paint? Of the metal parts, the front band looks most like paint You...

Completed auction RC byf 45 “NUR FÜR KURZ PATRONE”

Seems crazy it’s experimental with a serial above 100k. Fortunately, my fantasies are a tad different 😉

    K98K Byf 44 vet bringback

A very odd marriage. It appears the hand guard "clip" just forward of the receiver is somehow wired on. Is it loose w/o the wire job? What does the rear sight look like? Also, is the original HG clip just forward of the rear sight ground off? I'm guessing your GFather made this marriage.

So, Buchenwald KKW production is mentioned as starting around 265xxx. Simpson mentions (pg. 287) SN 264707 "Stock Marking Change (Buchenwalde manufacture), but no mention of what the stock marking is to indicate B'wald.. Previously, I assumed B'wald guns required E/749, but apparently All...

$1200 is below retail... if a matched example. Buy it, but ask for a bolt & band pics before sending funds, and ask for the customary 3 day inspection

Identification of a stamp within stock of a SWP45

It does look odd, but here's wood SN from an "aK" block.... and whatcha think of the bolt on this "L" block (dot 1943)??

Identification of a stamp within stock of a SWP45

It's E/WaA63 .... commonly found in the channel of Brunn I guns. Attached is a prominent example from an aL-block (1944). Just be aware that there is "something" slopped inside the channel, as the wood inside should be raw as shown in the second pic.
