Forget who mismatched the rifle do you think if it does not match its junk or not a real Mauser or it wont shoot as good last as long or this is not a war time rifle. I guess I am tired of hearing these things.

Just because its missed matched does not necessarily mean it wasn't done by the Germans towards the end of the war everything was different hell they were running out of everything , not to say I wouldn't like to have a nice matching but just dont like to hear thats junk or not a real rifle I...

But if your not buying it to sell what difference does it make most I have seen the bolt has been pencil in to match the stock does that make it less desirable ?

Why do most frown on missed match rifles I can see it if it was not a war rifle but these rifles went through hell, does it bother you ?

ammo I ordered some of the ppu but its on back order decided to run some of the non corrosive stuff through my baby thanks to everyone for your help.

8mm I talking with a guy on the webb who is selling its steel case he said the rim has 64 stamped at the top and 01 at the bottom they are in navy arms box 15 to the box. Thanks

Just picked up my first mauser its a 1936 S/42 in good conduction not all matching numbers but it looks pretty good not for sale but wondering what it might be worth not that it really matters. I am new here just trying to learn a little bit about these mausers. Rick
