    Late War byf 44

Keel and grip should be marked as well, and yes there were semis but they are very very uncommon! Very hard to find gun if it’s right.

    K98k “dou ‘44” - “Matching” - Possible Factory Bolt Mistake - Question

    T Gewehr value/price.

Wow and thank you. I was not aware of a Kurz model! Is that a shorter barrel? I think there’s a thread here I can look and catch up on reading. Thx again.

    T Gewehr value/price.

Always wanted one and saw one for sale. What would be a fair price for a matching VG+ gun uncleaned as found with a nice patina? Nice bore and VG+ first pattern bipod. Thx.

    DOU. 44 pick up

Not drilled for a cleaning rod I assume. These transitional dou’s in the double letter suffix are really cool I think and that ones correct and sharp. I’ve got a couple and love them. Dou are underrated sleepers I think

    Nice Rack

had some spare time over the holidays and like many of u I suspect I've always been short of storage/display space for my collection so decided to make something up. I googled a bit and liked some things the CMP uses, patterned it after that but for k98 dimensions, and painted it Ordinance Tan...

bcd in original GI shipping box

amazing. so common in the Pacific and so unusual in the ETO. we all want a history/provenance for our "bring-backs" and this one is indisputable. did you manage to get anything else from the vet to make a grouping? really neat.

    BNZ45 on a 44 receiver

here's mine in pinstripes. its got a coat of old varnish but i learned a while ago to leave them be. this one's 8148S, and together with 7202S are the only two listed in the book. So this makes three :)

    Portuguese K98 new imports

That’s a deal. Always been very hard to find. Rarer gun in far better condition than those b’s.

    BNZ45 on a 44 receiver

That’s actually funny you say that! And I don’t mean that as a knock. Back when I got mine, it was sold as a “BNZ 44”. Plain and simple. the late characteristics that clearly identify this as at the very end of steyr production in ‘45 were not so well known. There was no Kreigsmodell book...

    17 Amberg and some kit

Ok as requested. no GI.V but wish! it is 40u and also there's the "u" on the buttplate as well. Assume that's typical? never noticed that on any of my other ones but perhaps since they get beat up there generally.

    BNZ45 on a 44 receiver

Yes I think so! They were nice.

    17 Amberg and some kit

your right about reenactors! Great War Militaria used to list items as "too good for the trenches" which always kinda surprised me! Here's a few more f the Gew for those that asked. Condition overall is nice and a good match for the display, but as I said a couple issues. the upper band and one...

$3k rifle: Easier to buy or Sell?

Selling is so hard. And timing even harder if you want to maximize return. I remember when uncle Mel decided it was time for his amazing k43s and VG stuff. He had a pretty good sense of the market tho and I think his gut was good.
