    LSR scope recoil ring/collar?

Looking good, Scott! Contact vaughn99 on this forum - he may have a ring, if not he would know what to do about it. And he can install it as well, I am sure. He just cleaned a scope for me, he does really excellent work. Jeff

    Werhmacht Awards Forum (WAF)

That would be a shame. For all it's issues, it is the best all around WWII German forum. I have been a member since 2004, most of the time paying. Jeff

    Who made this LSR mount?

Yeah, it is really close to real...I want to say Ukraine, but I'm not sure. The "1" on the base? That's new to me. I think the most impressive part is the bluing job...it sure looks period, compare to the scope. It's much "bluer" in person, my photos aren't so great. Not black like most repros...

    Who made this LSR mount?

I assume repro, my Dad got it from somewhere in Eastern Europe on ebay...he thinks? Who made this mount? It isn't French, but is nice. Never mind the scope...I know it is too late for a "v" block Sauer. It's just in there for display. Just got it back from being cleaned by vaughn99....what a...

Black wound badge with award document, 3. Komp J.R. 328

Thanks, Peter. I hadn't considered if the name was common, but I also think this is the same person for sure. That graves registry is a great research resource. Jeff

Black wound badge with award document, 3. Komp J.R. 328

I found out yesterday that the recipient of this one was killed in action in September 1944 in the area just Northest of Riga, Latvia near the Kurland pocket (before it formed) at the rank of Unteroffizier He was from Heiligenhaus, in North Rhine-Westphalia. He was 34 years old at the time he...

    Beloved mutt duv44

It isn't a tack driver, I've only really informally shot and "plinked" (not a proper range on paper) . I shoot modern Hornaday 196 g ammo in it only, non-corrosive. Jeff

Got a new bcd 4 rifle. Need some expert input about it. Any help much appreciated.

I tried to reply to your PM and email, but it says you can't receive PMs, maybe because of low post count. What specifically are you wanting to know about your rifle? Jeff

    42 1940 low level rework?

Wow, that was fast! Damn shame the stock was heavily sanded. Hey, at least it's not a humper. LOL It was my uncle's for many years, his "representative" K98k for his collection. Jeff

    42 1940 low level rework?

Hi, I have had this rifle for a while, but haven't posted it here. It's a 1940 42 code, serial "662 k" with several forced matched parts. The stock has unfortunately been sanded, it is x'd out and renumbered to the gun in the channel. Handguard is mismatched. Both bands are "662", the upper one...

    Browning 1922 Wa140

Did some research (and posted it on Jan Still's forum), it is an VoPo rework in case anyone was curious. Now for a holster... Jeff

    Browning 1922 Wa140

FWIW, I got it home. Frame, slide, cap, and barrel are all serialled 60919, barrel and cap have been x'd out and force matched to the frame. Frame has a Wa613 which is quite rare, about 6,000 pistols I read? Slide is Wa140. I don't imagine people hump low end stuff like this. So any opinions...

    Interesting sniper photo

I'd be willing to bet the skid design is to facilitate sliding and creeping forward toward a target over a period of time, the enemy would only see the front of the blind as the sniper crept forward over hours of time to get a good position. That is a standard sniper tactic even today. Jeff

Got a new bcd 4 rifle. Need some expert input about it. Any help much appreciated.

STOP! Don't do anything to it. Especially the stock. Flitz is bad, it is an abrasive. That "oxidization" is patina, and that needs to stay on the rifle to preserve value. Nice rifle, and welcome! Jeff
