    Takedown Disc Finish

The one you bought was probably rusted at one point, if there aren't any markings left you could chick it up in a drill and use sand paper on it. Or just buy another one entirely. But yes. They should be in the white.

Novice looking for information on an interesting rifle brought back from WWII German armory

It would be hard to say. I would guess a very very very rough estimate of more then a grand, less then 2 grand? I've been in the mauser game since 2009 and I've never physically even seen one. very cool rifle.

Novice looking for information on an interesting rifle brought back from WWII German armory

Steyr produced luftwaffe contracted g.12/34 sometimes called a G.29ö. Not a common rifle. The stock is saveable, but to find the correct chunk of wood to repair it with will be real difficult. Definitely collectible as is. Edit: just noticed this one is dated 1938. Which I beleive is the...

    K98 bolt erosion

Not sure if there is a technical term for this, but I've always called it the "corrosive primer ring". All rifles that have shot corrosive ammo on the regular will have this ring. Some are barely noticeable as they were cleaned very well, others like yours have deep pits from the corrosive...

    Need help identifying k98, 29/40 ?

    Somebody's home brewed Franken mauser.

    Mystery (98k?) bolt ID

Looks like a unmarked late war steyr bolt body with the earlier style gas holes. Just my opinion.

    $130,000 Luger

I dont trust anything coming out of legacy. Including this one.

    Norwegen Bolt

Definitely a norwegian reworked bolt body. I've had great luck with them having good headspace in my k98ks. The bolts are not modified other then the serial number.

Interesting byf 44 - possible German rework??

That stock is repairable, but shouldn't be shot in its current state.

Opinions sought on an odd Yugo rework

Its just a yugo k98k that had its yugo reworked stock damaged or taken for another rifle. So someone bought one of the abundant Israeli k98k stocks to throw it in, here in the states.

K98 Bayonet with matching number attachment Post war

Looks like a blank firing adapter to me. Really neat.

Barrel stamp questions, on byf 42

I had infact gotten back with him and asked him for his payment info, but I guess you were willing to pay more so he went with you. Again, I am not mad at you. Happy to see it go to someone who wont throw some fake numbers on it and put it on gunbonkers for 4 grand :ROFLMAO:

Barrel stamp questions, on byf 42

I was the other buyer, after I said I will take it I guess he decided to sell to you for whatever reason. Whatever, glad someone like you got it though! Its pretty neat!

Remilitarization of dot44 and byf43 with zf41 base

You should save the sight base off that byf 43 and repair it. I have a lip that was removed from a sight base that could be carefully welded back on. That sight base is for a zf41 scope.

    AR-K

God those grip angles look uncomfortable as hell. Atleast the action is still "saveable".

    Fixing front site on k98

It is aligned for windage. Leave it alone. Just my 2 cents.

    G33/40 New Member

I agree with the above. Stock is a correct 33/40 stock. They were spliced like that sometimes. Your 33/40 should have a laminate stock though to be correct I believe. Looks like a parts gun. Action screws also look to be wrong. Neat project!

    Byf 42 from Ethiopia

That one looks pretty good compared to most of those Ethiopian imports
